That's an interesting read... I did NOT know that the 2009 CWP will have a heated steering wheel - I'll be looking into a retrofit!

Stole it from another blog

Here are some key points:

* Interior 3 Series improved refinement
* Standard Active Headrests
* windows controls moved 20 mm towards the driver
* New iDrive
* Three new exterior colors: Space Gray, Blue Water, Tasman Green
* New Fine Line Aluminum replaces current trim
* Light Burl Walnut Wood replaces Light Poplar Wood
* Two new leather choices: Oyster Dakota and Saddle Brown
* Chestnut Brown Dakota leather replaces Terracotta Leather
* Finally, the 3 Series will be getting front and read PDC sensors
* Sport Package getting new wheel options and High Gloss Shadowline
* Cold Weather package will include heated steering wheel
* BMW 335d and X5d coming early 2009 (yes, we reported that earlier but BMW said November, still unclear)
* Automatic transmission only on the 335d and no xDrive
* Diesel Exhaust Fluid(DEF) service intervals: 11, 000 miles for the X5 and 13,000 miles for the 335d
* When DEF indicator shows zero miles, the car will not start anymore
* Better fuel economy for the 335d: 23MPG City and 33MPG Hwy
* Better fuel economy for the X5d: 19MPG City and 26MPG Hwy
* BMW X5 xdrive35d will give you a saving of 3.7 cents per-mile
* iDrive: 80GB Hard Drive with 12GB reserved for music
* New iDrive started off with 4 versions and based on the customer testing, the iDrive 2.0 was chosen

Heated Steering Wheel?
New i-drive?
High Gloss Shadowline trim for ZSP?

Poop. I would appreciate all these things in my current E92. At least the Logic 7 was standard though (now an option).

Thanks Jason. Twas a great read

High gloss shadow line... yummy. I can't wait for my e90 to arrive (heck, I can't wait for them to start building the damn thing).

edit: Sorry, meant e90. I keep thinking I'm still getting a coupe...

My E92 order (335i, ZSP) shows shadowline trim and hi-fi sound system, so it seems like at least a few of these changes are hitting the E92 as well.

Heated Steering wheel was a deal breaker for you? Are you serious?

Are you sure the M3 is the right car for you then? Will you also be worried the suspension is too stiff and the tires are too noisy?

I guess this proves that the 2009 5 series will not have new iDrive. This says only 1, 3 & 7. And the 7 is slightly different than the 1 & 3.
