Looking at your pictures with a car clean I've noticed plenty of rust on stopper hinge, I can highly recommend white lithium spray for hinges and locks, as it is very thick and sticky once set, leaves no rust, but needs to be sprayed carefully and wiped off residue as it stays on as white. That's what some dealers/factories are using for hinges.
PS: some may prefer not to spray grease on stoppers as it may become easier to close and open doors, but least it leaves no rust and squeaking

Ah no... Its residue of fecking copper grease. It got wiped off the other day...

Like you I thought it was rust, nope!

Cheers though...

As you said its been liberal sprayed with lithium grease and excess wiped off. Both sides

Hi Dan, did you replace the decals on your calipers ?
If so what did you use to take off the old ones ?
I've got a new set and the instructions say the old ones will come off easily with a solvent.
I tried tardis and nail polish remover and neither had any effect.

TBH I degreased the caliper and stuck the new ones over the top; they're ever so slightly larger, so cover the old ones without you being able to see them

The ones I used were off eBay; think these were them

Cheers, I almost did that but then changed my mind
Looks like the wheels are coming off again or I wait until winter wheels go back on.
Mine are from the same seller.

Been using the F31 properly for a change

Old kitchen out & taken to the tip; 3 runs has done it nicely..

Now it needs a deep clean inside (and out)

Can't do that; have to book an appointment then to use the waste recycling centre etc...

It's not been too much of a faff at all TBH; just lots of dirt n dust that'll soon be cleaned up and it'll be spik n span again

Yours looks a lot safer

When I gently brakes; the kitchen units just slid around on each other

I wrapped them in the old huge curtain to stop them flying off anywhere; thankfully they didn't!

It's times like this that I miss the load space of my previous Jap import E39 touring; flat, wide and boxy!

It would have still taken a good 2-3 trips nevertheless; no car would have swallowed it in one...

The tiles/bits of plaster were the worst bits; that stuff gets everywhere!

Looks like we'll be both giving out F31s a deep clean in the next day or so... I've meetings until 1230 tomorrow then I'm free to do what I can in the afternoon; I'll be starting by hoovering & wiping down the load space first... Even the headliners filthy

Too right agreed... but it does have other attributes that offset the negatives, or so I keep telling myself, but some days I don't believe what I'm saying and others I do....guess that's what happens when you've had 2 F31's in a row

What a stunning machine, congratulations!

So efficient and punchy, it's brilliant!

I wish we got the touring in South Africa, it is probably the best model in my opinion!

I think I would be fitting the rear bumper protector if loading stuff like that!

I like a bit of retro 80s matt black plastic

Doing just that type of loading destroyed the bumper on my Golf

Quick wash this afternoon and towel dried; the AG Rapid Ceramic spray is doing a superb job (as is the Gtechniq C5 on the wheels); tyres dressed and buffed

I've got new DA pads and Koch Chemie Heavy Cut 8.02 just delivered; so will hopefully be able to get around to fully detailing the car in the very near future. The bonnet and tailgate came up superbly with the Koch Chemie 6.02 fine cut & finish; but there are still some marks that are present, so the heavy cut will see to those and I'll finish with the 6.02 and ceramic coat then

Last picture shows the wheels as they sit now with the 5mm hubcentric shims and stud conversion; they sit perfectly IMO
