My carbon seats for your regular seats, $?
I want the regular seats with the M color trim. Would there be an interest in swapping + money if I ordered the carbon seats? What would be a fair price?

I believe the MSRP from the dealership was something like $35,000 for two seats. A fair price would be $0-$35,000.

100% thinking of the community. I know some guys regret not getting them. The wildcard is who’s paying for the $2500 bmw track thing. Before I order I’ll check in. Trying to make zero cash.

Hey I'm interested. We can discuss pricing/logistics in dms. I have the M sport seats and could potentially drive down to DE to do the swap in person. Message me on insta @dailydownshift or pm me on this site.

Honestly, if that's the case, I would just get the normal seats and option out the other stuff. If you ever decide to sell the car and someone looks up the options and sees that the expensive carbon buckets are replaced with the base seats, that's a huge red flag.

True...and the car will have better resale value (and easier to sell or trade) if the original seats are the sport seats. |

Regardless then spec the car to how you want it. It's not worth the potential hassle to trade seats. I love the buckets. They are well worth the price.

The only scenarios where this makes sense is if OP wants to sell for a profit, or capture the top speed increase and/or the m driving course - which is $2500 if added separately, as its “discounted” in the carbon pack bundle. Otherwise its really not worth the hassle imho.
Another thought - the buckets are normally able to be added to other M cars for $4500 because one forfeits their normal M performance seats in exchange, which carry their own value. If Bucket seats = x, and Normal seats = y, then x-y = $4500. So that dealer asking for 35k for buckets better be prepared to pay 30.5k for normals. Just saying |

I have seen multiple sets of G8X buckets go for $10k on top of base seats. Whether you choose to believe it or not, the average is $8-12k atm
Especially with all the shortages, they are more demanded than ever. Can probably get $10-15k for them with no trade. The thing is... they are a $4500 option, but you have to buy them with a $70-100k car. And wait a long ass time to get them, if you can even spec them when you get an allocation. |

I don’t doubt folks over pay for stuff. ADMs exist because of them. Doesn’t change how much they should go for, which is $4k tops if in like-new condition. Anything else is desperation. Sell the car and get a new one and pay 4,5k for them. |

I agree it's silly, but things like this are worth what people are willing to pay. Pretty much no supply, and super high demand. |

Do you have a link to a successful sale of buckets for the prices you're mentioning? I can go online and list my G87 for $120k, doesn't mean it's actually worth that much lol
