Ordered some DIY ceramic products

Hello everyone,

With my new G80 allegedly at the port, I placed an order for the following ceramic products:

Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour
Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light - 50 ml
Gtechniq PW Panel Wipe
Gtechniq W6 Iron and General Fallout Remover

Wondering if any if you have used Gtechniq's ceramic line of products to protect your car/wheels. Hoping anyone who's used them can either offer DIY application advice or long-term feedback if you like the products.

Thanks!

I have any knowledge/experience with GTECHNIQ products so can't comment on them.
However, take your time with Prepping. Prepping is probably a major factor in how the coating will come and and how long they gonna last. Even with new cars, there might be some kind of coating/sealant/wax on the paint so I highly recommend a light one-step polish to ensure the surfaces are free of contamination.
Congrats on the new ride and good luck!

Gtechniq is great stuff. I might have suggested some different coating products purely from the perspective of ease of application.

Thanks guys.

Hopefully it comes out descent. I've done a few paint correction jobs in the past, I'd still say I'm an amateur but got great results. Fingers crossed, hope the YouTube videos serve me well. Lol

Gtechniq makes fantastic products. I have two vehicles ceramic coated with their products. I suggest adding EXOv5 and C2v3 to your list. CSL + EXOv5 + C2v3 is a killer combination.

I have used it most recently on my daughters X1, my IX and I4 I just traded in. I did panel wipe, csl and then exo.

IMO you should do the exo, it really makes the shine pop. You can apply exo about an hour after you are done the csl.

You won’t regret it.. makes it look awesome and last. It was sundown when I finish my daughters X1 and could not take any pics.
Below is the one I took for the IX.

I second the comments regarding prep and the use of ExoV5 over CSL. Be sure to work in good lighting so you can check for high spots when leveling the coatings. I also suggest that you don't have the dealer wash or otherwise prep the painted surfaces prior to delivery. My CA was aware of my OCD regarding this and took care of it for me. Nonetheless there were some minor swirls/scratches that needed to be polished. I recommend polishing the whole car after decon and prior to doing the coatings.

I've had CSL and ExoV4 on my M340 and my wife's Infiniti QX30 for over 2 years now. Both spend half the time in the driveway and half in the garage. I am very pleased with the gloss, slickness, and water beading. Bugs come off the front with very little effort.

I recommend using a good car shampoo and I add P&S Beadmaker as a drying agent.
Best of luck with the new ride.
