Thanks but I'll wait for Throttle House, Savagegeese, Car & Driver, etc. The remainder of these automotive "influencers" just heap praise onto any car so they can remain buddies with the manufacturer.

But regardless, I'm sure reviews from legit journalists will be positive. This car is promising.

High 3s to low 4s for 0-60. This thing is quick! The price is only a few grand off of the outgoing m2c but I think the performance will be on par

Sounds a lot better than my M2 comp…can't believe how bad the comp is after my OG M2.

3.8 second 0-60? That's just nuts. All the reviews seem to sing the same praise, no doubt this will keep pace with an M2 on any road. Don't even want to imagine what the payments will be in this chip-shortage BS climate

The looks have grown on me. The M2 is going to be one hell of a car. The 230i seems like the pick as far as driving goes

Here's a quick one from me. I'm not a professional journalist by any measure, just a BMW fan who happens to get lucky once every few years with a press trip.

https://garage36.wordpress.com/2021/...-xdrive-coupe/

I wish I could afford one, it is hovering around 195,000euros/220,000USD in Singapore. *Ack!*

Mystery of the century man, anyhow I have no interest in the AWD. The RWD should be sub 3800 but still heavy for such a small car.

Oh yes, for those who were wondering, a pure rear-wheel-drive M240i Coupe is on the cards. Direct info from the folks in charge of this car at BMW.AG.

No word on how much wider the M2 will be though, they were pretty tight-lipped about that one.

I'm excited for the new M2. I ordered my M240i to get me a spot for the new M2!

Excellent article!

It really costs the equivalent of $220,000 USD to purchase the M240i in Singapore!?!?!?! Here you could easily have a Porsche GT3 or Turbo, V12 760, a Maybach, various used Ferrari's, etc, I can't imagine spending that for an "entry-level" BMW!

I'm not trying to sound sarcastic, how does ordering an M240i related to getting an allocation for an M2? It's not like trying to buy a new Ferrari, I don't think the M2 will be that limited. I plan to get an M2 also, but just planned to put an order in when the time comes.

From my limited experience with ordering new cars, if you want first dibs on a brand new model that will be limited at launch it's always good to have already bought a car from that dealer. Like you said, the M2 won't be limited. Though with how supply chains are being constrained even more and more every day, getting a first allocation for an M2 is going to probably be a challenge. Having my M240i order and trading it towards the M2 when it comes has the potential to get me up in the list for it. Hope that helps or explains my logic!
