In couple years the dealer will be a contractor only getting a firm amount from the manufacturer. It started already in other parts in the world!

Buying a new car is just super annoying because of the dealerships but online buying is coming soon.
So you want to give up your ability to negotiate for convenience of buying online? And who says you can't buy cars online right now? You can very easily contact the dealership online and do everything online and if you really want to get your way you could probably have them deliver the car to your house as well.

It also sounds like you're already ready to pay MSRP for a car so why bother wasting your time with negotiating? just walk in and buy the car from the dealership that has the best service at sticker price!

Yes I would! Make it transparent for the customer...I do not negotiate my cell phone, gas price, burger etc...why would I have this hassle with a car?

Make it transparent like Tesla and I will sign right away! I do think Lucid, Rivian etc. do the same and the German OEM's need to act.

So yes....I would... don't have the time for the nonsense the dealership is trying to sell me as " best price "

Like I said, you can very easily walk in and pay MSRP now and skip the negotiation process. You don't need to restructure the dealer concept to get what you want.

You can't... that's the point...

Every X5 in California is 30K over sticker... So I bought a used F85 insted of a new G05 with missing options.

Dealerships are just useless...most don't even know their product.

Lol what?! I'm in SoCal and we're selling them at sticker or up to $5k over if it has M Sport. Sounds like you've had a bad interaction with a dealer on their last couple of in stock cars.

Bay Area: SF, Stevens Creek, Fremont... All with markup...

The automotive industry has their biggest change currently to a mobility industry, dealerships will have to change and go with the time.

Not today or tomorrow but in couple of years the business strategy of a dealership will be totally different.

That makes sense. That's probably why all my old Bay Area clients have been hitting me up again.

We'll see what happens with the dealership structure. What you're saying has been said for a long time now. I'm not saying it won't happen but it's starting to feel like global warming if you know what I mean. State of New York was supposed to be 10 feet underwater by now.

And yes, I just recently quoted an M440i GC which came out to $949 a month at sticker. It's the lack of rebates and low residual coupled with no discounts.

Plus M3/4 are no less than $10k anywhere you go. Leases on them are around $1400-$1500 a month so being under a grand for the 440 is a good deal in comparison.

Dude...calm down. You work for a dealership, nothing to do with the Brand BMW.

I hope the online sales will kick all greedy dealerships at some point!
He's an idiot. I never give my business to the over MSRP boys. Every time I buy a new BMW I head over to the one dealership in my city that doesn't play games, show them the price on the BMW website and leave with my new car. That's the way it should be. These greedy fools can shove their overpriced cars up their butts.

The white one sounded like they had it on eco mode. I'm hoping to get more videos with the exhaust revving in Sport +.

I thought this was sarcasm at first

I’m sure there will always be people out there who don’t know any better or maybe don’t care about overpaying. There’s a well known dealer, in your area no less, with an M3, M4, and M5 available as of a couple days ago all @ MSRP…

Anything at MSRP right now is a great deal. In their case they'll serve a few lucky buyers and won't have anymore Ms to sell for a while since allocations are very limited on those models.

Things are hot right now but they inevitably cool off, and the guys that shaft me now will lose my future business forever.

I still refuse to touch one of my local dealers; they jerked me around when I was trying to get the recalled Takata airbags on my E90 replaced. Since then I've bought two cars from their competition.
That's a good way to piss them off. They'll notice.

I was able to get 3k more than what I paid for my current vehicle that was bought new one year ago along with free window tint and all weather mats along with 2500.00 knocked off the 2022 m240i. The 240 made it to port on Sunday in the U.S. (Baltimore) so we will see how long it takes from here.

I really appreciate this. As others have noted this crazy market is a blip or bubble and things will normalize at some point. When they do folks will remember.

I haven't noticed many people express loyalty to a dealership. Most people appear loyal to the lowest price. This is why I believe dealers don't worry. They very likely perceive ADM have no real long-term negative impact on sales.

I really like this car. The M2C is a lot for the street and this new M240 seems maybe perfect. But no manual is such a deal breaker. I cannot understand why BMW can't logistically accommodate it even for an additional cost. I'd happily order one if it had a manual RWD option.

Strange that the 2 will be getting power seats but the 4GC's that are arriving in the U.S. won't.

Wait until next year when the economy crashes and cars sit on the dealers lots at which point there will be deep discounts. Every thing has a cycle. Right now it's not the time to buy or lease. Hold on to what you're driving, give it a good wash and detail and wait. No reason to rush into getting a new car.
