Wow they changed the color of the cupholder lights? Mine are yellow in the M340i so I just keep it shut but I did think about putting a blue film over it before. looks great!

The website doesn't do a good job of the description, but does the ambient lighting come with the build or do you need to include the "Illuminated M Trim -$200"? The Illuminated M Trim just makes it seem like you get the M colors which I wouldn't want, I would just want the normal ambient lighting

Correct, you do not need to add anything for the illuminated trim. The $200 add on makes the large illuminated panels on the the M badge colors.

I will include a photo of the $200 trim below.

I always liked BMWs use of red and orange instruments. Low energy light waves relaxing to the eyes at night with minimum blinding and loss of night vision effect. Is red part of the ambient light selections?

Nope. Orange and Amber are the closest you are getting to red. With the cognac interior in mine the amber and orange both look great.
