Is there any kind of (manual) lumbar support with the sensatec seating? I know the leather comes with power lumbar.

Just order the car as is and it will come will ambient lighting, it's a standard feature. The illuminated M thing is just the color on the door.

For some gosh darn reason the photos keep posting sideways.

Did yours come with Sirius xm/radio? I heard they were taking it off for some people due to the shortage

For those of you asking I asked my Sales Manager three times before I drove the 85 miles to Greenville to pick it up to make sure there wasn't a stop sale until the 20th. I also tried to inquire as to why I was getting mine early and they acted like it was perfectly normal to get my car today.

As far as driving I finally got to really drive on some twisty roads without a salesperson in the passenger seat and wow, it feels incredible! The power is incredible, it continues to give as you ask for more and more.

edit: XM was deleted. I think I am also missing wireless charging, but that one I need to investigate more.

Went you get a min I don't suppose you could post a photo or clip of the sunroof completely back at it's last position

Are there still enthusiastic drivers alive who are not falling into all the marketing.

Lots of people are are buying into just everything if it’s new.

How in the world can you think a car has ///Motorsport genes at 1700kg plus. Yes you get ///Motorsport badges everywhere but there it stops. Evolution at BMW is bigger, heavier at every new model. Make Tires wider and put more HP in it, give it a new jacket and it is sold.

Maybe i one of the last enthusiast drivers which is critical.

I don’t need those heavy fun cars. And as a daily an X3M will do nicely.

M2C/CS are not exactly lightweight cars (over 1600 kg), do they deserve the M badge? Who made the rules?
The cars are more than numbers, the fat and heavy M4 G82 (about 100 kg more than the M2C/CS) is a blast to drive, it's not an X3M.

My M2C with light weight race seats and manual is low 1500kg. Thats is still on the heavy side.

My E30 M3 DTM 954kg en 345 hp you can t imagine how much feel and fun lightweight brings.

I know it is a race car but imagine that BMW M had brought a lighter M2 after de 1m coupe and even lighter upcomming M2. I would be all over it and looking forward to drive one.

Now with the ///M Bigger and Heavier route has put me off buying one.

You have to compare apples with apples, the M2C with DKG and without racing seats weighs more than 1600kg, but here we're talking about the M240i xDrive with automatic transmission, the next M2 can be chosen with manual transmission and 2wd and you will save about 100kg.
I don't see any drama on the new M240i regarding weight compared to the old F22 actually.

You may not forget where the weight is going. These days, cars are much stiffer, crash secure, contain a zillion options that didn't exist a few years back, are stuffed with catalysts and filters to preserve the environment...

And yes, a negative effect is the lack of direct road connectivity. Not the speed, since this generation of M is by far the fastest yet with a wide margin!

When you're willing to renounce security, comfort, environment, daily driver capabilities as a purist, you can still buy a Caterham Seven of course.

Man if you could get this with a stick it would really be a baby M2. But it’s basically the same price as my ‘20 M2C up here in Canada. The next M2 will be pricey…

The sweet spot is clearly the 240/340/440/550 with the G series.

Thank you. I can't listen to @Advevo endless repetition of lightweight dogma anymore.
Yes, we all would like to have cars with 300kg less. But the majority here seems not to live in LaLa-land like Advevo does!
And his focus and criticism towards BMW is unfair (mildly put)!
A year 2001 E46 M3 had 1584kg in the sport auto supertest. Performancewise (stiffness, track times) it is a laughable joke compared to a 2020 M2 CS (which weighs exactly the same!!!) or an upcoming G87 M2, which will weigh appr. 50kg more.

So what the hell are we talking about here? What BMW M did in terms of limiting weight increase is almost a miracle, when you compare the progress done with each generation regarding performance, safety, size, while dealing with ever stricter legislative requirements regarding emissions and safety!
And please stop telling fairy tales about a shift in ///M DNA from E36M3 up to now! In every generation the M3 could be equipped with all the then-state-of-the-art luxury equipment!

Now have a look at the most prominent sportscars icon in comparison: The 992 Porsche 911 Carrera S.
Guess what it weighs? 1570kg! A pure sportscar platform, which costs you an arm and a leg ... and a 2020 M2 CS with mass series platform background is only 18kg heavier? So please stop attacking BMW unless you present me another OEM, which offers a car in the same category, which is substantially lighter!
Nobody wants a track car. If you want one: Build it on your own, but don't expect that an OEM goes havoc and creates something, which in reality is unsellable.

Seeing this lighting versus the in person photos of the M illuminators I think not getting the illuminators is the way to go. BMW missed on it a bit and the ambient lighting looks way better.
