Thank you. I can't listen to @Advevo endless repetition of lightweight dogma anymore.
Yes, we all would like to have cars with 300kg less. But the majority here seems not to live in LaLa-land like Advevo does!
And his focus and criticism towards BMW is unfair (mildly put)!
A year 2001 E46 M3 had 1584kg in the sport auto supertest. Performancewise (stiffness, track times) it is a laughable joke compared to a 2020 M2 CS (which weighs exactly the same!!!) or an upcoming G87 M2, which will weigh appr. 50kg more.

So what the hell are we talking about here? What BMW M did in terms of limiting weight increase is almost a miracle, when you compare the progress done with each generation regarding performance, safety, size, while dealing with ever stricter legislative requirements regarding emissions and safety!
And please stop telling fairy tales about a shift in ///M DNA from E36M3 up to now! In every generation the M3 could be equipped with all the then-state-of-the-art luxury equipment!

Now have a look at the most prominent sportscars icon in comparison: The 992 Porsche 911 Carrera S.
Guess what it weighs? 1570kg! A pure sportscar platform, which costs you an arm and a leg ... and a 2020 M2 CS with mass series platform background is only 18kg heavier? So please stop attacking BMW unless you present me another OEM, which offers a car in the same category, which is substantially lighter!
Nobody wants a track car. If you want one: Build it on your own, but don't expect that an OEM goes havoc and creates something, which in reality is unsellable.
I am so glad you clapped back at this. I was reading the comments and was surprised there were no negative comments but someone couldn't wait to sh@# on your parade. Awesome car and it looks great. I'm waiting on my RAM to clear at the port on a M3 but would love to see one of these and drive it. With all of the fools on the road today, I will take safety for 200 Alex.

Thanks mate it's much appreciated!

You sure it's maxed out? Double click the button/lever after the first retraction, it should go back further than that…at least I hope it does lol

Same interior as mine, looks amazing mate!

I don't have a go pro or a good mount for my cell phone. I will get my brother to hold the camera this afternoon and I will hoon it around highway 9 so I can give you a better impression of how it drives

Thanks for doing that mate, looks like that's it.

I ask as my F40 135i completely retracted, back so far like yours then another click then fully retracted back. However it was a panoramic roof and the 240i being an integrated roof may be the reason.

Still looks great mate and I'm glad I ordered it with the sunroof.

Enjoy man! Your car looks amazing, and thanks for your help ✌🏼

Just wanted to thank (the very responsive) OP again, this is the best post in this G42 yet!

Odd the sunroof doesn't go back further, but whatever. I'm very glad it has one though. Although it adds weight (and in the worst place possible), I really enjoy them.

Regarding the total weight... I'll admit I was quite upset about in the increase at first (especially considering my RSX-S weighs almost 1k lbs less), but have come around. Safety regulations & added rigidity have bulked it up. Its performance will undoubtedly trounce the F22, so it should not be of too much concern.

I do want a track car, but that'll be an Elise weighting in at 2,000lbs down the road haha. For an all around, fairly luxury car with lots of creature comforts & 400hp... the G42 is a solid af imho.

Really wishing I had opted for the driver recorder at this point. I promise I will try to post some videos tonight hooning it on some country roads.

Sunroof set-up is the same on the G20 folks. So at this point after 3 plus years it's no longer considered strange since it didn't debut on the G42.

For those of you asking I asked my Sales Manager three times before I drove the 85 miles to Greenville to pick it up to make sure there wasn't a stop sale until the 20th. I also tried to inquire as to why I was getting mine early and they acted like it was perfectly normal to get my car today.

As far as driving I finally got to really drive on some twisty roads without a salesperson in the passenger seat and wow, it feels incredible! The power is incredible, it continues to give as you ask for more and more.

edit: XM was deleted. I think I am also missing wireless charging, but that one I need to investigate more.

Your cognac Sensatec looks really good, better than I would have guessed! I have the leather/lumbar on my incoming car, but I'm just curious how the seat is without lumbar support?

The back rest feels surprisingly well padded. I don't suffer from back problems but I feel like lumbar isn't needed with these seats.

I sat in a m240 with the black vernasca leather on Thursday and aside from feeling warmer I would say they are pretty comparable.

Obviously I am biased but the black vernasca leather didn't do anything for me looks wise.

The entire exhaust is noticable when you're in sports mode. As far as crackles and pops, it definitely takes some specific throttle inputs to make it happen. You need to be on the power and completely let off. If you are revving down and it stays in the same gear, it doesn't really make a ton of noise.
