Delivery time

Congrats!!! Looks super clean. I was wondering if you could give me a timeline from ordering to the car to actually having it delivered to the dealership. When did you first order the car?

Placed the order on September 8th, picked up at the dealer on Friday, November 12th.

That being said I think us early boys felt less of the supply bottleneck/shortages than later weeks in production.

Thank you! My car finished production on November 2nd. The tracker has been stuck at "Final Assembly" for the past 10 days so I do not know where the car is at. I'm really hoping it can be here by the end of the month.

More to follow. Any details anyone wants to know, please let me know.

For some gosh darn reason the photos keep posting sideways.

After a test drive yesterday, I ordered a M240i on the spot.

I ordered mine in the same color spec, Black Sapphire and Cognac. I did order the aluminum mesh trim. I also selected the bicolor wheels and red calipers.

Going to be a long 10-weeks.

Very nice! Aluminum trim is a great call for the small add-on. The black shows dust and scratches too easily. I am not sure I want to drop $1500 on the carbon fiber interior trim pieces, but if I can swap mine to aluminum once parts get more available, I definitely will.

I will include a photo of the $200 trim below.
Hello and glad I found this Forum and thread! Perhaps you can give me a bit more detail on the $200 illuminated trim option. I just ordered a 2022 m240i last week. I also got the $200 option. Is that the case, or is there some other ambient lighting in the panels at night? Is the $200 worth it?

I do like the badge color that shows in your door, and that is on day and night, am I correct? Can you change it, or turn it off and on? Thanks for your help. I just joined the forum so haven't yet posted anything on my m240i build, but I will. This is actually my first post

Welcome and congrats on the order! It's not dark there's little dots and they can be changed to a number of available colors like orange, blue, green, purple etc. I'll share a photo later if no one else gets one to you sooner. The same illuminated door card is also used on the 2 series gran coupes if you wanted to see it in action in person.

check out this post. it should allow you to compare the two, the free "choose your color" lights and the $200 M illuminator option.

Ah, that helps a lot, thanks! I could still delete the option as the car won't be built till mid-March. It isn't the $200 as much as I want to make sure I don't like the non-option look better. Naturally, the dealership didn't have one on the floor due to the current scarcity, but the salesman didn't seem to know much on it either.
