Been in Quality Check for over a week. Anyone experiencing similar situations?

Ouch. 14 days? That seems like an unnecessarily long amount of time in quality check. I hope it's not normal.

From researching the other bimmerpost forums, it seems like cars get placed in QC when parts are delayed or there is a stop sale. Some people claimed this tool can sometimes populate the reason the QC hold: https://bmw-recall-tool.netlify.app/

Yeah, I didn’t have a reason and neither did CodeSlinger. I think it’s just that “Made in Mexico” amazing Quality Control. In the grand scheme I’d rather my car looked over with a fine tooth whatever for an extra two weeks than have my fucked up Tesla.

From what I’ve put together from the forum along with conversations with CAs, SMs and multiple Genius representatives, it seems plant SLP is fairly well known for having a slow data entry update program. As we’ve seen from the Sitting on the Dock post along with a few G20 pages, cars skip over multiple steps, especially from READY TO TRANSPORT to all the sudden IN TRANSIT.

Trust me I know this process seems like it has actually slowed time and is at times exceedingly frustrating, I do try and remember that we’re much further along than much of our brethren here and sometimes I end up feeling like an asshole complaining about where I am in the process when goodfolk like Sethhboii haven’t even received a well deserved allocation yet.

And my SM basically shamed me into feeling like a child saying you’re not the first person to impatiently track cars and if I ask BMW what’s going on they’ll basically tell me to suck a fat one.

So, I’m just paying it forward.

Don’t freak out over 7 days.

Ask your CA when the estimated production day is. If you’re 7 days past that then you can start worrying.

I'm hoping we all come out of QC in a batch. Maybe there are parts that are running behind schedule and need to be installed outside of the production line. Two weeks just seems like overkill from what I know QC to be.

What was everyone's production date? Mine is 8 May.. wondering when I go into QC. Unfortunately I'm in AU and we don't have the tracking facilities our counterparts in the US or UK have. The only option I have is to ask my dealer and beyond a certain point, he's going to get sick of me chasing up...

Mine was 5/3, went into QC 5/6.
