G87 not selling in UK ?

I am currently looking at replacing my G42 with a G87 and have been watching Autotrader for several weeks or so.

Today there are 65 actual cars available, where the ad shows pictures of the car at the showroom and not generic photos.

Many are £2000 or more off list price.

Why are the values dropping so fast ?

There only seem to be 45 that are listed as "brand new", with 200 or so BMW dealers in the UK, that is only about 1 car for every 4 dealers. Quite a few of them also seem to be over optioned and in the £70K to £80K price range. I expect many of them are also registered and on a 23 plate, so losing value if that is the case.

Get one with a great discount ! There is quite a high number at the mo so it’s definitely a buyers market for sure.
I have come from a G42 you will not be disappointed- it’s a great step up IMO. I kept my G42 3 months as she just wasn’t exciting enough.
Discounts mean demand is not massively high - M2 looks are polarising, but any gas ⛽️ guzzler performance car is a smaller target market. Maybe a lot of customers placed orders so waiting patiently for there’s to arrive. Maybe 🤔 with the great prices on M3 / M4 peeps are opting this route. If it’s not going to mega popular,
makes ours more of a rare sight 😊.

Discounts up to £6.3k

The G87 discounting in the UK is quite a bit less percentage wise than that of the G80 and G82, though, with quite a few more of them available, too, even though they now have somewhat lower production volumes. Up to £21K off an M4 'vert:

As someone who has a G42 in the garage and a G87 just weeks out at this point I would love to hear more! No regrets? Love my G42 but felt like I compromised and missed the manual transmission.

That red M2 is great value, but I have got used to having an auto after 3.5 years with a M2 comp and seven months of the M240i g42

Ideally I want the track pack as the g42 interior is basically identical to the standard M2

Yes I really wanted the carbon buckets as had them in my M4 and you felt like you were somewhere really special - but I simply was not going to pay like circa £9k when they are a £3.7k in M3/M4 feel like BMW have done us dirty by not offering as a single option. 😠

💯 % no regrets- think M240i x drive is great for commuting but my car is purely
w/e toy for blasts. I came from V10 R8 then G82 so hard acts to follow and G42 a great all round car and it’s spritely but didn’t give me the massive grins 😃, even though I had adaptive suspension the G87 is sooo much better, just poised for action. So even driving in just road mode is way better. Then in sports and sports + 👌🏼Grip is fantastic. G42 stock owners IMO are kidding themselves when they say your not getting much more with G87 - you definitely are M lite cannot compare to full M. I get bored with cars - M2 is enough to keep me occupied 😊

I was speaking with a sales bod and he said they're slow to sell and both there demo's are up for grabs.

Black g87 on the E-bay, 1800 miles, carbon body kit, performance exhaust, retail would have been £84k Rybrook want £66k

I was offered a smurf blue with full body kit and mperformance exhaust for £70k

One thing that might be hampering sales is the fact Bmw have already stated nxt year production will have more Hp and several alternative colours.

I think i was lucky selling mine for what i paid for it, I'm trying hard not to buy another, I'm tempted because theres some great deals around otherwise a g87 cs will be my next buy.

That's another thing that lets the m2 down, full fat m car but shares the interior out of the g42, the door cards are a bit cheap looking, carbon buckets great for a weekend toy but not a daily and the carbons are designed for a auto so in a manual the cod piece gets in the way.

Wonder when they will land in UK ? as at that point there will very reduced interest and heavy depreciation on our cars, as you would place order for the new upgraded one. I’ll be upgrading to X drive as soon as that’s available to order and yey more colour choices.

The dealer cannot confirm when the cs will be available or the price that it might be, so it's a bit of a waiting game.

xdrive in isle of man green or estoril blue would be a perfect combo.

Going by the F87 M2 to M2 CS price delta of about 50% and the M3 CS price of £115,900, the G87 M2 CS will probably be about £100K OTR.

No I thought you got GT4 allocation that’s why you sold your M2 ? Unless I’m getting mixed up

Yes I wanted either skyscraper grey or Isle of Man green when I got G82 but I ended up with Black as got a cracking price.

The APR is 7.9%, that’s why they aren’t shifting them ! ( not as bad as the 9.9% they want for a g81)

They have very quickly reduced considering they have only been out 2 mins in UK and not very available until recently. There’s some good buys - if early adopters of been more patience many would of probably bagged a much better deal.

I looked at two today and will be avoiding the quad centre exhaust and carbon kit lol

The blue one looked nice, but black is not for me.

I think it's normal for Europe. You could get some great percentage off from day one. This is still too expensive considering what's possible to negotiate when you order.

they are easily available on lots in the US too. I think demand has been slow. My sales rep said there are no issues getting them in. Also the economy is worse than people think and peeps are being way way more careful with their $$$ right now.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a huge market crash in car sales—it’s about time after the hysteria the past few years

High finance rates and lower disposable income.

All car sales are suffering, not just M2s, not just BMW.
