2022 M240i xDrive Roof Racks

Mountain Biking season is around the corner (or if you like skiing, that's ending) and I'm looking to order the roof mounting hardware for my new M240i. BMW offers Part #82712469102. Does anyone know what else is out there from manufacturers like Thule that will fit the car?

Any chance you know the part number? It's not listed in the US

Has anyone had luck getting a roof rack or rear hitch rack? This is the #1 thing stopping me from ordering an M240i! I need to know that I will have a good option for transporting my bike.

I couldn't find any Thule or Yakima racks to fit when I was looking, but the BMW rack is cheaper and is made at least as well as my Yakima. Doesn't seem like Yakima or Thule are interested in building the screw-on types of towers that fit modern Audis and BMWs

Thule makes the BMW OEM stuff. You just have to find work arounds for adapters. I got my Thule TopRide to work after importing some bolts from Europe.

Roof rack is a no-go for me. ( Crashed into my garage once) Torque lift central made my last hitch mount for the Mk 7 golf R. They're telling me that they anticipate it being a while before being available for the M240. Would love to get the part number for the European option.

The European part is a trunk rack, I think. We need to find someone who lives near Atlanta, GA USA and is willing to lend their car out - to start a group buy for a stealth hitch.

I'm using the BMW roof bars, they are improved over the 2018 set I had on my 330i they are much quieter. don't think twice about getting them.

I wish BMW offered the tow hook option for Australia at build time or as a retro fit kit. I have used roof bars on a 3 series in the past, they work fine, but it's a bit a of a hassle fitting/removing (I don't like leaving them due to noise and drag).
