Portimao Blue M240 first impressions

Got my M240 Tuesday, need to say the car is fantastic! Traded in a 2014 228 M Trim, great car (2nd 228 in a row). Here are some impressions:

-the car is bigger but does not feel heavier, probably because of the extra power.
-the ride in comfort mode is incredible, reminds me of the "luxury" feeling of the 3 series
-build and finish materials are an order of magnitude better
-did not ordered the shadowline version because of the red calipers, wanted blue on blue but wanted badly the black finishes (did not know you can add only extended shadowline for just $300). Now that I have the car I DO NOT regret a single bit. The cerium gray mirror caps look great together with the cerium gray wheels
-taking about these wheels, they are gorgeous! The online configurator does not show them right as they look kind of golddish. Im attaching a pic bellow
-as other mentioned, I was hesitant about the idrive 8. I can say now that I would have regreted if I could have chose i7 after using i8. Super sharp, fast (contrary of what some sayj and follows the same idrive logic of previous bmws
-I did order the illuminated M trim at the doors and regreted when I saw some pictures of the dash illuminated, I got afraid it was too big and bright. In real life the ilumited / M pattern on the dash is very small, goes great with the piano black finish on the center console AND the lighting is very very dim, you can barely notice it at night and not at all (the illumination) at day.

Of course, these are my opinions and preferences, I am just sharing to help those guys that are currently ordering / waiting alleviate their doubts in case they have the ones I had.

Last: this BMW is fantastic, worth the wait and for what you get is a steal. Enjoy!

Congrats, can't wait to pick mine up in the next few days! (I'm also going from F22 2er)
While I like shadowline trim on blue, I think cerium grey with blue looks great as well and I went with this combo too.

Ordered the same exterior options as you (minus the emblems). I agree you made the right choice not going with shadow line. I like how the gray wheels match the trim, and the blue calipers match the paint. The gold strip in the lights also looks great with this config. Can't wait to see mine in a few weeks.

Congrats and beautiful color combo. I agree, I really like the non-shadow lime trim with cerium grey, it provides a nice contrast to an other thick black surround over the kidney grills and bottom vents.

I'm going Portimao with the shadowline package and black wheels, but I have to say, these 792M wheels look really good!

What specs do you have on your 240? Wondering if we're going to be twins here in town, lol. My PB is extended shadowline, black wheels and black leather w/ blue stitching. I've got a dark tint too to accentuate the black and blue theme.

PCD and Blue Ridge Parkway

Photos from the delivery and ride home. Still looks great after 5,600 miles and track days at Lime Rock Park and Club Motorsport. Probably the only M240i to have driven to the summits of Mount Mitchell (NC) and Mount Washington (NH).

Very nice pictures. Last pic makes me think I wish they color matched the side skirt and back bumper. I wonder if someone makes a wrap to match that color and wrap those areas.

I also opted for the non-shadow line on my TN and love the contrast. If I had to do it over I would have gone with cerium as the wheel color - looks fantastic. Congrats!
