Does your car give the same message when trying to turn off the lights while moving though?

Bit unnecessary.

Drive nose first into your property or, as the neighbour seemed polite enough to request rather than tell you to switch your f***ing lights off, just explain you’ve looked into this but it can’t be done.

Why is it hard in the G42? It should be simple to do in BimmerCode. It’s not even an expert function. It should be right there.

What options do you see? I’m confused as to why it’s not showing up for you and people are saying it can’t be done.

The option to allow exterior lighting switch off is in BimmerCode however even with the setting set to allow the switch off it will still give a message saying that lights cannot be turned off while driving

Yes, I coded the option “in position A and 0” and whenever I press the off button while driving it gives me a warning message and doesn’t turn the lights off

Bummer. Wondering why it works on the G87 and not on the G42…

On the G87 you can turn the lights off while moving with just that coding?

Sorry man I thought it was funny that we were having the exchange about the same thing, so I went and double checked. The app says “to prevent the headlights from coming on while in off, switch to position A”

My car is coded to position A. Change yours from position A and 0 to just A, and it should work!

No worries dude. I changed my code to that and it still doesn’t work though don’t think there’s any other settings I’d be able to change unless I go into expert mode. Might just be something specific to the G42 but I’ve see people on other forums with the same question as me and nobody seems to have found a solution.

I’m just as confused as to why you can’t code in that function. I’d understand bmw not allowing to from factory but I’m surprised nobody has found a way to code it in.
