New BMW M2 Competition??

I just got this email today, November 20, 2023. See the attached screenshot, and the text is below.

It says there is a "second generation" M2 "just around the corner". They can't just be referring to the current 'regular' G87, can they? Are they referring to something new that is coming up? Like the Competition?! Or did someone at BMW accidentally press the wrong button and blast out an old email from 2022? 😝

The title of the email is, "You'll receive updates first about the new BMW M2 Coupe"

And the rest of the email is...

I’d guess that’s a misfired email. Looks like some marketing intern is getting a slap on the wrist.

Yeah, the current M2 is the second generation M2.

I had not seen that video and... oh my god... I almost laughed my 'man berries' off... LOL!

I, too, have had mixed feelings on that car, but he has really sold me with this...

They could be talking about the power bump that the base M2 is getting. I heard that they would equalize the HP between the M2 and the M3/M4 to 473hp. Then the Competition model would be different. Kinda reminds me of what Toyota did with the SUpra where it launched with 335hp and then they bumped it to 389 a year later.
