Confirms what i have been thinking'/doing for a long time. Break in main points I've been following: Vary load Avoid high rpms vary rpms heat cycle/watch engine temps/avoid high heat One concept kinda new to me thermal shocking, makes sense. Did not appreciate the amsoil inclusion, they did not specify the oil viscosity of the Amsoil comparison (or i missed it), it could've been their signature series 0-20, thus not a valid comp, plus they are not comparing it to a synthetic oil. ALso the eco oils...That confirms my info which is why i changed early (500 miles (getting rid of any silicone and other manufacture debris in the oil) and getting a higher heat tolerance oil as i new i was doing a track day as soon as broke it in. I changed to a Castrol 5-30 euro spec that did NOT meet the BMW LL-17fe spec but i felt it gave better high track temp protection. |
