You purchased it without driving ANY BMW? That's awesome! I went from a Civic to a TSX to my current car, a 340i. Manual transmission was something I had been sticking with (see what I did there), and I can say I've enjoyed the upgrades each time. I can't wait to hear your thoughts once you see it and drive it! |

My CA called me a bit earlier this afternoon to say he saw that my car was scheduled to leave the port Friday, with a due date to the dealership either Saturday or Monday. I guess it's happening for real! |

I was reading through the previous posts on this and thinking "holy wow this guy is still waiting??". I feel your pain as this part of the process is the most painful. Sounds like early next week will be some serious happy time coming your way.

For sure. I'm trying to "be cool" about it at the moment. Been a long wait (but for sure, not as long as many others!) and am looking forward to being able to form my own thoughts on the experience with the car, as opposed to "oh, seems nice" on other people's posts. |

It seems that status 165 is one of the bigger swings in the timeline. I've seen peopel get super good timing and get on a boat within a few days, all the way out to a couple of months. Mine stayed in 165 from 1/23 through 2/16. Almost there! |

Having gotten my allocation in October... and looking like a March delivery, this wait has almost made me wish I would have just bitten the bullet and got the 992.. (almost).

Would there have been a long wait for those as well, at the time? A little before I ordered my car, I was looking into 718s and the wait was pretty long for those as well. |

Hey y誕ll, I知 in RFT rn since 2.17, and I did a little bit of a research for the next available ship (see attached pics from web, the earliest one called Morning Menad and non of the g87s from this forum are shipped by this ship. The later ship is called Patriot, which there are some result if I search in this forum), I guess at this moment the my garage tracking is not accurate enough to tell us the status, no?
I searched the vessels based on port of Mexico and my arrival port (where I actually live) Baltimore, MD. BTW, sorry if anything bothers you with my grammatical error, I知 not a native speaker but love to talk with you guys! |

Once I got to the next step, I was able to get a name of the ship from the Genius phone number. |

[QUOTE=xtougher;30924483]Awesome! Good luck with the timeline. Someone put together a spreadsheet that shouldn't be too hard to find of a bunch of people's timelines based on major steps. 20 days from build completion is on the quicker side, if I remember correctly. 2 G87s in the family...nice!
Yes, it will be nice! I've driven BMWs for decades, with the last one being an OG '18 M2. Drove it for 4 years/60K miles and loved every bit of it. But, in 2020 I went to the Porsche dark side and bought my first one - 718 GT4. Then, traded in the OG M2 on a 992 Carrera 4GTS. That 4GTS is gone now and am awaiting a '24 GTS that'll arrive stateside in May. When my son started the order process on his G87 we got on the lists at 3 different Texas dealers. The one in his then hometown in West Texas came through first and he took delivery in September. From the first time I drove that car I was highly impressed - it's a much better car that my 2018 M2 was. Fast forward to late December, one of the DFW dealerships we were still on the list of called me out of the blue and said he had an allocation. I thought about it for 30 seconds and took it! Frozen Portimao Blue, manual, carbon roof. What I've learned is that as fantastic as the GT4 is, (and believe me, it is) it's makes for a very bad daily. Too low, loud, I scrape everywhere, poor stereo, etc. The G87 will be my daily and allow me to keep excess miles off of both Porsches. I fell very fortunate to be able to own these 3 - my wife gave up trying to control my car obsession a long time ago, and my MIL thinks I'm crazy. But my son and I love it! |
