Bmw mechanics in ontario
Looking for a new go to mechanic that won’t gouge or scam me! For my e90. Any recommendations? Close to Hamilton area or within gta. No one past Toronto. Thanks

Highly recommend Ivo at Columbus Automotive in Mississauga.
Been a loyal customer of his for about a decade now.....always honest advice and his rates are very reasonable. He promotes genuine BMW parts though. |

+1 for Ivo at Columbus (although I haven't been in quite a while now, I hope he has done well)
Also a great indy in Kitchener, if looking for someone in that region: Miro @ Centra Auto (not far from BMW Grand)

Bosomode ( mississauga) is pretty good. He does good work, fair prices and he is very down to earth. He owns a 135i so he knows these cars. He would probably be my go to mechanic soon .
Ivo at columbus is also very good , prices are good for the most part . He does great work, very clean shop , he is nice to talk to . KTM motorworks in Mississauga is also very good, they specialized on BMWs , very friendly , prices are a hit or miss . They do great work but they seem to be a little bit higher on their pricing compared to other mechanics in the area. RMP- Very good mechanic, prices are also very good overall .. They mostly work on appointments . Problem is they are busy all the time and its only 2 guys working there so its hard for them to stop their work to talk to you for 20 minutes. They go straight to the point , so you have to trust what they are doing. If you are familiar with the e90 platform they are probably one the best option Last edited by rick100; 03-20-2021 at 06:31 PM.. |

Ivo, Ivo, Ivo..great guy and mechanic. Really knows bmw's. Used to take my E90 to him until I sold it very recently. Still take my non bimmer to him sometimes. He mostly works on bmw's. Pricing is reasonable. Honest guy. KTM is pretty good too. DC motorwerx is great too but maybe too far for you. This forum loves RMP but I did not have a good experience with Rocco. |

I went back to Ivo last week. Needed an oil change and battery replacement. Due to my work schedule i needed an appointment rather quick. He was able to fit me in sameday, his pricing was actually lower than the competitors on the oil change and the battery replacement. I knew his work is always excellent and i never had a complaint on that regards.
Thumbs up 👍 for Ivo at columbus. We ended up chatting for a little bit after i picked up the car, he is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He even did a complementary inspection on the car. Found nothing else wrong with it and he was honest |

I have a local mechanic in my city that is fairly priced, and he lets me bring in my own parts so I only pay him labour, only issue is he takes days to complete the job basically takes his time or busy! But if he tells me two days to complete, it usually ends up being 4-5 days.

my co worker sent me to RMP after I purchased my 335 in 2019. I called them to set an appointment, the phone conversation was very short and rushed , I should've known right there that this shop was not the right fit for me. The job was completed rather fast , they must be very efficient , however the owner spent half the time yelling and swearing at the young guy in the shop. The owner would not even acknowledge me when I tried to asked about other services, it seemed like he was angry about something. I tried them a second time , and it was exactly the same experienced. My co worker still goes there and he didn't look too surprised when I told him about my experience. Yvo at columbus or KTM in Mississauga are my go to shops for any maintenance on my 335. Always a pleasant experience, no attitude , great work and fair pricing. I read a few members recommending RMP , maybe I'm one of the few with a bad experience |

Some people don't mind, but I did, and also found another local shop I prefer to go to. If you're out west, Ivo @ Columbus is a great option, as is Jakub @ White Eagle Motors... both in Sauga. In the East, Randy and his team @ 11Tenths get my vote every time. Another notable mention is Darren @ DC Motorwerx (Thornhill) There are perhaps a few others worth considering too.

Do any of these places take user supplied parts? I know a lot don't want to but some insist using genuine parts. I prefer OE as they're cheaper and same quality without the logo.

Prob best to call around and ask... I know Ivo / Columbus prefers NOT accepting customer supplied parts, unsure about the rest.

I was happy with German Auto-Tech in Waterloo, but I last lived there 10 years ago. Would still go there if I could.
I'll be needing to redo my front e90 struts in the near future. I'll DIY what I can, but don't want to do the spring compression work. Anyone know who in Hamilton (or Sauga/St. Catharines/Halton) that could do that part of the job for me? |
