rear bearing pressed in from which side

I am unable to remove the snap rings during rear bearing replacement on my 2006 323i. They are rusted in place. I wonder if I can just leave them. I have a 24pc kit for pressing bearings. It includes a bushing that is just smaller than the edge of the snap ring. I could use that to push the bearing towards the middle of the car. Then use a slightly larger bushing to press the new bearing, from the middle of the car towards the outside.

There is no magnetic element for the bearings for my model. The new bearings from Amazon do not have any markings.

Can the bearing be installed in either direction?

You have to remove the snap ring to remove the bearing. Install the same direction of the removed one. They can not be installed in any direction.
