If any of us made $350k/yr we'd be doing a lot better than an M2

There are a lot of us who are who don't. That's why if it all felt apart tomorrow we wouldn't lose our homes and a lot of other things.

Haha yeah, that is the mindset that keeps the top 1% at the top, not generational wealth or extreme privilege or anything else. Get off your high horse dude, not everyone wants to hoard their money for the future, it can be entirely reasonable to spend half your salary on a car if that fits your priorities. You could die tomorrow and loose everything, if you want to save way more that's great for you, but it doesn't make you a better or smarter person than the next guy.

It all depends on what you are responsible for. If you are single and if you die tomorrow and now one relies on you, sure spend $$$ on a car. But some of us have kids, houses we like, parents we might have to take care of, etc. We as car enthusiasts might make great memories with our expensive cars, but with all things, there is a balance and spending funds on others happiness and comfort also is important. Each to there own. But I do have to say in our current culture of spend spend spend, it is disheartening to see so many live in the moment while signing their life away to later poverty and not being able to do anything fun later in life. Have fun now but balance it with fun later.

Thanks for the help guys. Ordered on Friday.

Alpine White 6 speed
MANL Vernasca with blue contrast
ZHO Shadowline $300
ZLP Lighting $650
1E7 Bicolor 930M wheels
248 Heated Steering Wheel $200
3MQ 50 year Emblems $200
4LN Aluminum Rombicle Anthracite interior trim $150

This puts me at $64,695 with the destination charge.

Anything I will miss later? The carbon roof is tempting, but way too much money. Same with the HUD. Like the carbon seats, but wife would bitch incessantly about them and it's a big nut for the full carbon package.

Is the $950 I am spending for the adaptive lights and Shadowline worth it? Will I be disappointed in the Aluminum Trim in person vs spending the money for carbon? The aluminum looks good in pictures.

Congrats! Nice build. Yeah, the Carbon package is a ball buster. I will definitely do the Carbon roof on my build as I don't use sunroofs much and like the look. Might be going White as well with bicolor wheels. Blue calipers with the blue bits inside looks sharp together and I do like the storm trooper look. M Performance or aftermarket Carbon parts always look great on white cars. Current car is white, that's my only dilemma. Might consider BG but I know it will be widely specified.

Given the market launch isn't for another 6 months at the very least, I really am surprised more aren't opting for the M Carbon Roof given they have a nice chunk of time to find that $2600 under a shoebox somewhere

I'm going to allocate $500/mo the next 6 months for the M Carbon Roof and Carbon Fiber Trim I opted in for - just feel it needs it.

My optimal spec:

Alpine White
Carbon roof
Adaptive lights
Shadow line
Aluminum rhombicile interior trim
Standard emblems
Standard black wheels or M performance bronze/gold wheels

M performance suspension
M performance carbon diffuser
M performance carbon lip

Any idea what the m performance parts will cost?

For an Alpine White build, I would definitely do the Shadowline with the adaptive lights. It's going to look nice against the white and the LEDs of the full adaptive lights looks better than the normal ones.

I originally went with the HUD for my build but then took it off, I have it on my M240i but don't feel it's worth the $1,100. I also went with the aluminum rhombicle trim. Looking at CF and Aluminum Rhombicle samples side by side in person at the dealership, I do admit the CF looked more premium but it was one of those things where I felt the AR looked decent enough and is lighter than the CF to provide a little contrast in a dark interior. It's definitely nicer than the Tetragon I have on my M240i

Yes, was very close to BG also. I actually prefer it to the white, but wonder how I would feel about it in 5 years? I think I would have gotten it if it was a free color.

I didn't see where I could change the caliper colors? How much is that?

It’s a shame the carbon buckets aren’t a stand alone options. Seems like I am forced to get the drivers pack which I don’t want.

Just know you would probably being paying minimum another $2k for Merino leather, if the buckets were stand alone. Since the M2 has Vernasca leather standard and BMW doesn't produce buckets in anything other than Merino leather.

Merino leather for front/rear seats is baked into the Carbon Pack as a no cost option. So theoretically $6.5k total($4500 for stand alone buckets and $2k for Merino).

Don't see any posts but has anyone been able to get the carbon package added to their order in the order bank? My rep says it's not showing up in the system to even choose

This what I am wondering. For example, if you are #2 at a dealership that only initially gets 1 allocation but #1 wants the carbon pack. Does #1 get to sit on that initial allocation until that option is available or does that allocation then go to #2? Or is all of that at the discretion of the dealership?
