So now that we can see up close, those do look like the 2er headlights.

Also, as long as the back box doesn't look like it's dragging on the floor like the F87 Comp I call it a win.

What the hell is this abomination?

Big butts are so 2012...

Kinda like that Maxima-esque front end.

I would think to myself "Dang, that front end looks so familiar, but I can't place my finger on it." Then I saw a Maxima in a parking lot - and BLAM! Now I can't unsee it.

Doesn't mean I hate it. I actually think the M2 looks mean. But that back end is less than appealing. And nothing from BMW M should ever evoke feelings of Maxima design.

Beefy!

Looks like it may be a new Green paint. You can see it on the parking sensors

Those are extra pieces attached to the rear bumper to hide its design. Take a look at the big M2 thread to see the actual bumper.

Fun to see more close-ups, but there's not much new here we haven't seen. At least I don't think?

BMW is milking the pending reveal for all its worth.

This prototype is actually more covered up than all of the spy shots we see overseas. We've pretty much seen it all minus the headlights/tail lights…which are a carry over from the G42.

I think they're going to continue to milk it through probably late summer.

Am I the only one who thinks this generation 2 series looks absolutely awful? When the G8X was unveiled I was pretty surprised by the front end but when I first saw the m240i I actually laughed out loud. It looks more Kia than BMW.

Oh man - thank the maker! I was distraught. LOL With BMW blowing things up all over the place in their new "design language", I was a wee bit concerned the ass-end would suffer the consequences of normal-sized grilles.

But no doubt, there is something sinister-looking about this new M2, and I am liking it. Really curious to see if they'll be introducing any new colors unique to the M2! One can hope!

Can't wait for the reveal, looks like the G87 M2 and the current F90 M5 are the best looking BMWs at the moment.

The part you identify with the arrow kinda looks like a camouflage panel; something to completely conceal the actual line of the production design. Guessing that will be gone at final reveal. But just a guess.

They should've assembled this in Germany.

I'm not against buying a Mexico made car, but I'd be wary until they can establish a history of quality control.

It also dilutes the M brand a bit, even more so now that bmw is sticking the M badge on anything and everything.

By the same rationale, I'd look much more favorably on a Japanese sports car built in a Japanese factory (e.g GR Corolla).
