Same as when you hear a Lambo or Ferrari making a lot of noise and kicking up dust, no one assumes it's some tacked-on noise maker, you just know it's the nature of the beast, specifically a bull or prancing horse.

BMWs, even the M models, just doesn't ring the same bell IMHO. I mean, it can rock a spoiler but nothing excessive like it's trying too hard to be something it's not.
Can't tell you how many times someone's pulled up alongside wanting to race. I always ignore them, but sometimes I give the thumbs up and act like I'm going to race and then watch them look like idiots taking off racing themselves. I'm sure some of them thought they got me off the line. There have been a few times when I was with friends that were excited and pointing out that someone want's to race me. My reply is always the same; "how old are you again?"

It has almost never happened in my M cars that someone try to race me but in my wife’s new M240i? I can’t leave the house without these idiots start revving at every stop light or sitting on my bumper on the hwy, Wtf.

A spoiler similar to the design below is the perfect size for a BMW, IMHO.. **chef's kiss** 👌🏻

Can you provide the OEM document that explains this, please? It is not what I got.
Some previous Gen BMW's with a Drum/Shoe Parking Brake arrangement coupled with electrically-driven cable did use it instead of the Service Brakes, but that has been phased out for a very long time.

And FWIW, this installation position appears to be incorrect .

People always have something to complain about.. when g80 released it's the big grill and nothing on the small brakes. G87 leaked and it's actually good looking side profile, then ppl started jumping on the smallest things…

Never underestimate the need for whining, the G80 forum had its time with plenty of rear brake hate.

My other car has this sort of arrangement along with an old fashioned hand brake. It does have hill hold so must be electronic too.

The g80 seems to stop pretty well though, so I can't think this will be much of an issue.

Handbrake is connected to the parking brake assembly. Hill Start Assist is a function of DSC.

Congratulations, limited run Vantage and a M2 CS 👌🏻 I have no I idea why you still slumming over here with the commoners. J/k 😉

I did a little research on your comment because it peaked my curiosity and correct me if I'm wrong but I don't see any signs of a manual handbrake with a physical lever on the Vantage model, just mentions of e-brake system.

And also, I was mistaken before, no current car manufacturer that I know of has an e-brake setup with just a fixed piston caliper, without the ancillary "mini caliper" to support the parking brake function.

It's a hard necessity apparently and in the case of BMWs, unfortunately never going to happen due to cost restraints. 😔

But who I am kidding, you can't overcome physics; it most likely will ride stiff as a go-kart, which might be bliss on a track but torture on the under maintained public streets. 😗

Not to mention, replacement tires in that profile are going to be a costly endeavor.. Like $500 per tire..

Don't blame me, blame society.
That G87 M rear wing is very low and mild, just looking sporty. It doesn't look fast and racy like the much taller STi/Evo style wing and certainly not like a proper GT wing on a track car

My view is that life is short and there are already plenty of restrictions that we have to put up with daily, why give a shit about people bitching on what type of car one should be driving or how one should pick a wing. Not everyone can be a racing car driver but if with the wing on, that fantasy is somewhat fulfilled then that is a very good thing. This is what a good sports car manufacturer (Porsche, Ferrari, Maclaren, Honda Type Rs...) is ultimately selling, the emotion of the driver being tied in with motorsports

It's your car, you paid for it with your hard earn money, do whatever you want to it to make you happy

Yea, Unfortunately, NYC is not exactly know for their glass-smooth roads… It doesn't really bode well for painted-on tires.. The cost of replacing 21 inch rubbers are going sting.. 😟

Any estimate on when they would open up the order portal based on production date?

Yes I'm a little worried. I pointed that out earlier as well. Hoping that it turns out to look okay when fully revealed.
