Replacing factory square exhaust tips with round tips

Hello everyone,
I am new here, next week I will receive my new M240I xdrive 2022
it's a super nice car, but I don't like those square exhausts.
One of the first modifications I would like to do is replace the square exhaust tips with round exhaust tips, does anyone know if this is possible.
Thank you

I couldn't agree with you more! I'd like to see the MPPSK be offered. Some feel that the MPPSK for the M240xi won't be optioned until after the new M2 arrives. Since the MPPSK would easily increase the M240xi rated horsepower to over 400, BMW may not want the M240xi HP to be near that of the M2. Dual pipes on each sides would sure look great!

Seconding this. The G87 is going to be a difficult proposition from a power perspective if they de-tune the S58 to being barely 50 hp over the G42 because they don't want it encroaching on M3 and M4 territory.

The power creep on the mXXX models is getting ridiculous, not that I am complaining.

Crazy how opinions and tastes can differ… I LOVE these square exhaust tips! I personally really don’t like the round exhaust tips on the 230i. 240i looks much more agressive… :-)

I too am not a fan of the stock exhaust tips and would love to replace them with the more traditional round ones. However from the pics I've seen of the m performance exhaust it hooks up to the stock tips so I'm thinking we may need to wait for the aftermarket for a solution. Also round tips would have to be made to fit with the stock diffuser unless you want to replace that too which I would rather not do since I like the looks of it.

Forgive me If I'm wrong, I'm new to the idea of doing any mods to a car, but couldn't you remove the bolted on existing "tips" and replace them with another set of bolted on round ones without welding, etc.? The current tips don't do anything so I was thinking just find some fake round ones and just put them in place lol. Like the poster said above, you'd have to get them to fit in the space though so thats probably tricky. For like $100 for fake round ones I was thinking about it.

I know I've seen people change the exhaust tips on their g20. Here's a link

This is what you have to do. You can buy tips but you will have to cut the exhaust, The exhaust comes in an oval shape stock so you need to cut it until its more rounded. I posted a thread under Cosmetics as well.

Thanks, but I guess the part I'm confused about is why do they need to connect to the exhaust pipe at all? The exhisting trapezoidal plastic piece doesn't? It just floats? So could you just bolt on? Again, I'm a noob here, you guys obviously know more from experience, just curious is all.

No one makes any tips like that for our car yet. Not that I have seen. Most of them require a clamp or welding, also having a gap like that would bug me.

It's likely done that way to make it cheaper to fix in the event of a collision. If it's floating it doesn't damage the functional part of the exhaust when it gets pushed in.

I hope an adapter is made or available with round tips, in any case let me know if someone has installed something like this.

is the exhaust trim clipped onto the bumper or is it part of the bumper? if it's clipped on, hopefully someone makes an aftermarket exhaust system and you can remove the trim. I personally think quad exhausts would look nice.

At this point I don’t think BMW cares about the M2 encroaching on the M3 and M4. All three will sell because of power of M brand, and some people preferring a sedan or the larger 4’s styling. BMW has no issues with the M240i matching the M340/M440 power.

I have found this site, the tips are available separately.
Maybe a set with round tips will come out later.

stumbled upon these https://automodz.ca/collections/exte...40580463100066

and according to this https://www.bimmerworld.com/M-Perfor...128093303.html the m240i has the same tips as the other G series.

Need to do some digging and see if anyone actually have got the automodz ones in stalled on their G series

Those automodz ones are pretty sick. Wonder if those will fit on the g42?

According to this https://www.bimmerworld.com/Body-Aer...128093304.html it's the same part for the g42 as the g20

So it should bolt right on

I emailed the automodz company last weekend to verify their round tips will fit our car, but no response yet. Not a good sign

I stumbled across this site...i sent them an email about G42 M240 fitment waiting for a response. In the meantime, i am going to measure the inlet on our cars and try to figure out the length as well. These tips come in a variety of inlet sizes but the length is 250 mm.
