This video has really put me on the fence.
Maybe I'll wait for official M performance tips from BMW.

This is extremely worrying for me as potential buyer of quad exhaust, i'm not looking for super-cheap stuff like the one in aliexpress that 1yr later looks like that

The reason we are choosing this is because, as far as i know, this alibaba thing is the only solution available nowadays for G42, G20, G22 to get quad-tips without having to change the whole exhaust system which is in the order of several 1000's $.

I wouldn't mind to pay for the original ones (4x) like this ones, each of them is ~300$ if I had the divider tubes to put all together. ( https://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/4...PIPE-FINISHERS )

However i have been looking for this for months and i haven't found only the divider tubes where i can then put the original 4 Mperformance tips...

Also the screws system from alibaba is quite ... meh... not the preferable way...

Let's pray some company who reads this is able to provide a way to have something with good quality without changing all the exhaust system.

I could see myself paying the 2x dividers like 150$ each + 4x official tips at 300$ each = grand total = 1500$. It's costly, yes, but i'd be a buyer.

My guy who does custom exhaust building from headers to tips will be converting mine to quad tips (welded not bolted) and muffler delete this Friday. I'll post some pics when it's done

I paid a local shop that's really good at this $600 to professionally weld on a set they had in stock. They are in NE Atlanta.

I am very happy with the results.

I wonder if some kind of coatings could help the situation, wax or a high-heat clear coat?

Maybe coat the entire thing with this stuff? Reading through the asked questions, one guy successfully used it on a turbo.

I've had these tips on my car for a few months now and just took them off to install the milltek exhaust with black tips. I have to say these cf ones look pretty rough but can't say I've done a lot of extra work to keep them looking good so maybe that would have helped. Like the guy in the video said, you get what you pay for.

Just a warning guys, as most of us already know, Aliexpress stuff is just NOT quality stuff. My life motto always is 'If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys' and these aliexpress tips were no different.
I wanted to try it out, in the hopes these quad tips would maybe hold up a year or maybe even 2. But they have already failed after only 6 weeks.

Just don't waist your money on these chinese knock-offs. They're not worth it...
I went back to stock today.

Sorry to say, I had to take these tips off. They lasted only 4 months. The tips faded and looked like they been on the car for years. It was good while it lasted.

Old thread, but thought I'd ask...

How are others who installed the Ali Express Quad tips finding their durability?

Any corrosion / heat issues with the tips or hardware?

For $170 shipped and seemingly no alternatives in the pipeline, they are still tempting..

Did you read what those posts said? The product is crap and they didn't even last 2 months

I see that the chrome and carbon fiber finish ones are failing finish wise, but has anyone had the black ones on for any length of time?

I did read on the G20 board someone (in Kansas) having paint chipping from the ends. But I am wondering if this is a climate / salt issue. I also see posts from people in more moderate / warm climates having no issues at all.

Unless anything else is announced soon I think I'm going to give them a try and if the paint fails, I might try a recoat going for a brushed aluminum look with https://www.vhtpaint.com/high-heat/vht-engine-enamel

Agreed, and yet they are listed for G42.
