Don't care what this boomer has to say at all (regardless of his background). People post this often in an attempt to 'verify' their opinions (mostly F22 owners pissed they don't have an LSD, etc.).

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 4/5 of the people I've shown the F22 & G42 preferred the G42 (and that's just the exterior, not even considering the interior & much improved performance).

Oddly the G87 is looking worse with a nasty square front end. The rear is meh too, doesn't look much wider either.

Compared to the work currently emerging from Munich, its fine. Sad state of affairs to form opinions like that but BMW is on a rough road with regards to exterior design currently.

The lights on the 240 sit very far apart in relation to the stock body width. Some extra width on the M2 will actually help the lights by bringing them inboard in proportion to the over all width. Maybe....hopefully

Im a fan of the side view proportions of the new car. Cabin back longer bonnet, but not such a fan of the overall size. Im sure on the road it will look impressive once our eyes adjust to the new squarish design theme. The M-Performance exhaust thats been leaked is inexcusable though IMO.

Agreed. The renders look pretty good. It will look even better with a rear reflector delete. I like the blue exterior color with a black spoiler. The black spoiler could have a little bit more of a higher kick for my preferences. I'm sure there will be plenty of aftermarket options.



The yellow wing is a bit much for me, but I suspect it will look better in person than in photos.

I just finished my M training for dealers at IMS and they had this exact car and a right hand drive production spec XM. I wasn't allowed to take pictures and they confiscated my phone before i entered the room the room. Apparently the only ones of their kind in the world right now. I'd say the reveal of both is VERY imminent.

Not as offensive as i thought it would. The rear has a good stance and looked nice and wide. The front wasn't too bad either! More aggressive than an M240i as one would expect. The BMW rep there told me this new blue color is called "Zandvoort".

The rear bumper looks weird in the pic with sharp 90° boxy angles and flat plane surfaces that just don't look like they blend in with the cars body lines. Curious if you got that impression too or if you're saying it's not as aggressive looking IRL?

In my opinion its more of a "grow on me"look, like everything from BMW nowadays. Personally i think the F87 is one of the best 2 door designs ever from BMW, so i was doubtful it would look better.

Yeah its for sure more boxy looking overall, even the front from what i can remember. Overall the lines don't really blend as well as the previous M2 but after seeing the G42 i think we all expected that.

The G80/2 have been out for a while now and have not grown on me. In fact I hate the way they look now more than ever before. The F87 is a great looking car and I never had to sleep on it or wait for it to grow on me. One look and I was sold.

exactly the same. it's either love at first sight or
