It’s not a finished build it’s just a build progression post. Roll cage is being custom made and the new Recaro Podium CFK seats are on order.

For tires, the reason why PS4S works is because they’re one-offs. I could put Cup 2 or Cup 2 R but for single sessions at this stage it isn’t worth it.

I’ve invested enough time to get a competition license from the SCCA and experience from club sport races. It’s not just about the car, it’s about the person behind the wheel.

Got it. The hard park in front of a tint shop may have thrown us off. Racing license and a roadmap to competitive use wasn’t clear. Love the build and best of luck to you!

I don’t see any suspension or brakes or anything to help the car around the track.. wheels- tires - brakes are must.. you don’t need all exhaust mods.. your just gong to piss people off with overly bad aggressive sounded car for no reason. No offense but removing cats is just making your car sound stupid.. sorry… I would out the stock setup back on and sell that junk and use the money to improve handling..

Why not some fun livery wrap for it instead of these BMW logos everywhere? Or is BMW sponsoring also so you have to put these i-racing i-performance bits?

If it goes on a racetrack regularly it would be cool in some historic livery. Like BMW BASF from M1, something like that.

Track time will tell him the same thing. Obviously OP is new to tracking; he’ll learn and build the next one better. I admire the intent though.

People have a tendency to see the missing and the negative instead of appreciating something in progress. The car is not a professional car but rather a car in progress to become a real track car, someday. You can track standard road cars on many tracks without a roll cage, kill switches, race tank, etc. I don't think OP is participating in pro events that require those mods. Having brakes, suspension etc would help to make the car more enjoyable and safe and a cage, seat, and race harness would add to its safety but they are not always required at his level.

this is just a build progression post and I’m not saying it’s done in any way. I have plans for a roll cage, seats, harnesses, full coilovers, and more. Right now, the car is in progress of becoming a race car and I thought to share it here for thoughts on other future modifications. When it’s completely done, I’ll share photos of the outside, inside, and track photos.

I hate to be the bad guy but shouldn’t you be doing the safety first before tracking your car? You mentioned you’ve been tracking this car every 2-3 months. Safety should be a progression - it should be the first thing in the list, right? Correct me if I am wrong. I don’t track my car but if I do I will make sure I do have the safety in first - roll cage at least.

PS4S have no business on track. Also be aware you may get punted for track db limits with a straight through system.
Anyway best of luck with your endeavors but you should prep the car first if you intend to track it.
