I miss the torque curve of my old 135i - peak torque came on at 1,300rpm. That was a fun daily. Wish the S58 could meet in the middle and had peak torque hit a little earlier.
TBH based on what your saying your driving style is it sounds like your not even really utilizing the stock power. You would’ve been a lot better served with an M240i or m340i or a Supra as the B58 has way better low down grunt which is what it sounds like your after. If you have the automatic transmission I would suggest driving in auto mode in the second or third setting. The kick down is very responsive and will always put you in the rpm range you need to spool up quickly and once cruising keep the rpm’s down for fuel economy.

Got it. This is where I would want to data log and check out things like throttle closures and timing corrections. Previous experience with installing a piggyback tune and pushing 2 to 3 more PSI of boost I was running into timing corrections due to the quality of the pump gas near me. Adding a little E cleaned those timing corrections up and it was felt in the butt dyno. I'm more than happy to experiment with this and report back but would need to go with the JB4 since it sounds like data logging with the racechip isn't a thing.

Has anyone done a dyno on map 5 (default map)? I’d be curious what the power gains are at for that map.
