A bit off topic
Does the new 2 platform also have a dual pivot / wishbone setup up front end like the 3?

No need for xDrive, RWD traction is excellent with soft compound tires. Also, heavier cars regardless of RWD or AWD will understeer more than the lighter variants, eat through tires and compromise overall driving sensation.
Learn to control the slides, learn to explore the traction limits. It will make you a safer and a better driver and you will have a whole new sensation never felt with all the traction nannies. Go get a self driving Tesla if you want the car to do everything for you. M2 is a wrong car for street posers. |

To my knowledge the first letter..example S58B30T0 stands for:
S-Model family. S being a BMW M road car engine. 5-Stands for Cylinder count. 5= Inline 6 8-Technical highlight. Valvtronic etc B-Fuel type 30-Displacement. 3.0L etc T-Power level. T meaning Top 0-Revision. Meaning original engine design..1-9 meaning revised/minor to major Hope this helps |

C&D tested the M440i xdrive at 3.8 0-60 and the M240 xdrive at 3.6. I don't take 0-60 times on most manufacturers websites all that literal. It's often just marketing nonsense to make one model appear superior to another even within their own brand.

Well, a lot of "purists" want RWD&DCT instead for the "auto" option, and going AWD destroys any chance of such drivetrain from happening. BMW took the shortcut for the M xDrive and decided to slap in ZF8, which just isn't exciting to drive, evidenced by threads after threads of xhp tuners trying to emulate DCT shifting by breaking their transmission.
