Paint Issue - Warranty?

Hi,

I have a 2022 220D. The paint on the front bumper towing eye has a paint adhesion issue. Basically the paint is blistering off while there are no issues with the bumper itself, as shown in the attached pics. I thought this was a clear cut caee but according to Sytner Luton, this is not a warranty case?

What do you think?

I have contacted BMW UK but they have stated that they cannot resolve this as they leave all decision making to the dealers. Ie zero accountability.

That's very poor!

Are you in a position to take it to another dealer for them to look at? Have you had it from new or did you buy it second hand?

My view would be that it should be covered by warranty and I'd be hassling the dealer to sort it out.

What was the dealer's reasoning for saying this is not a warranty issue?
In one photo I can see what I think are two small score lines, one below the flaking and one at the bottom of the flaking. Are they saying there was some sort of impact?

Just an update on this.

I went through the BMW complaints system, sent the pics etc. i was brushed off. They said that they leave decision making to the dealers.

So I went through the Sytner complaints process. I received a call yesterday and they offered to re-paint the part if i send it to them.

When i removed the part from the car I could see how bad the paint adhesion fault is. It’s sheeting off to the raw plastic.

Lots of hassle for a ridiculously obvious manufacturing fault. Unimpressed!

Absolutely. But top marks for getting this sorted and not simply nicking one off another Brooklyn Grey car!
