You’ll see the A for auto highbeams on on your dash.

It works after 35mph on very dark roads. If the road is lit by street lights, the auto high beam will not turn on.

So, find a dark road where you can constantly drive above 35mph.
When high beams come on it should be obvious, but the green “A” for auto high beams on the dash should change to blue. When approaching other cars high beams should not deactivate, they will just go around cars.
My auto highbeams work, but when I approached a few cars, the high beams turn off entirely (auto highbeam toggle them off) instead of antidazzle doing it's dance. I was going less than 35, so maybe auto high beams work at slower speeds and antidazzle works at 35+?

Can confirm auto high beam works below 35 and anti dazzle doesn’t. Had it happen the other day and thought it was strange.

I don't think you were technically wrong. In bimmercodes demo mode, it is where you said. Maybe just 3 series/M3 has it in a different place.

just did the coding for the headlights yesterday and tested it out this morning on the way to work... it is pretty cool seeing the left headlight move for oncoming traffic.

It's really easy. I had all variables and the new values to set written on paper.

I haven't even seen mine work yet, haven't had a nighttime drive.

Finally tested them tonight and it's really cool seeing them in action. Well worth the money spent on bimmercode. I wish I drove at night more now.

Has anyone coded the additional variables that can only be coded with e-sys? I'm itching to try that but don't want to be the guini pig on the G42.

CODE AT YOUR OWN RISK, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR A DEALERSHIP VISIT DUE TO A DIAG DROPOUT OR BMW LOCKING YOU OUT OF THESE FEATURES IN THE FUTURE.

G8x CODING FOR ANTI DAZZLE HEADLIGHTS AS OF 03/21 SOFTWARE UPDATE

Under the BDC module in expert there are 4 groups called LaMaster 1 through 4. They will be identified by LA1, LA2, and LA3. New values are after the space on each line. Print it out, these take some searching and you will drop out of diagnostic mode sometimes switching in and out of the app.

LA1

C_BLC_PRE_ENA | 1
LUT_FLC_FORWARDLIGHTING_Y | AFS

LA2

C_AFS_ECO_LEVEL_3_ENA | 01
C_AFS_ENA | 01

LA3

LUT_AFS_CODRV_HOR | standard/init
LUT_AFS_DRV_HOR | F040_G005_AHL...
C_CLC_CURV_V2 | 23
C_CLC_CURV_V3 | 28
C_CLC_EXT_ENA | 01
C_HBA_DIM_ENA | 01
C_HBA_GFHBA_ENA_V_HI | 3C
C_HBA_GFHB_ENA | 01

There are 4 more codings in the lane assist camera "KAFAS04" which we cannot currently access with bimmercode. Supposedly these will make the auto dim less aggressive while also making the beams tighter. The HBA will still perform extremely well without these changes. These can be changed with Esys.
I HAVE NOT TESTED THIS AT ALL ON G8X. IF YOU HAVE ESYS, PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

C_FLA_COUNTRY_WITH_MULTIPLE_REFLECTORS | 01
C_FLA_US_SENSITIVITY_MODE | 00
C_FLA_BS_ENTER_THRESH | 03
C_FLA_BS_EXIT_THRESH | 02

Thank you to "juhcobywankenobi" on the G20 forum for posting a screenshot of the cheat codes for this.
Other than a brief warning about daytime running lamps when first coded, this worked great, thank you! Driving at night with traffic is incredible now!

you can also try this: https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...42&postcount=5

from what I understand, you can remove the 5AP factory coding in 1 step so there is less messing around with settings. I don't know if it will work on the G42 tho.

Hoping to avoid spending over $100 on another tool + licensing etc.

Thanks, I just coded this on my G87 and will test this tonight or tomorrow night. Looking forward to it seeing how it works on the other videos.

Here’s a data point for the books: I changed the Vehicle Order using BimmerUtility (basically E-Sys), I unchecked the US code to deactivate anti-dazzle (I think option 5AP?). I just got the OTA update and of course all other coding was reset back to factory BUT it appears the full Anti-Dazzle system is in effect! Looks like the VO coding permanently set the option by unchecking 5AP.

Now let’s see if it gets disabled when I take the car into the dealer for the free oil change next week.

Any chance you could provide the steps to do this with bimmerutility? I just purchased the license and my car is arriving any day now, so hoping to do this mod first. I have no experience with BMW’s or coding. I’ll take any tips you can provide please.

Removing 5AP alone enables the full functionality?

Just deleting the 5AP from FA isn't all of it. You also need either esys or bimmer utility to do this.

You need to remove 5AP and then re-code a handful of modules.

To take it a step further and make it work even better you can do a bunch of FDL coding that someone posted above.
