I am sharing my first unpleasant encounters today I was driving normally when all of a sudden this guy, driving his 20 year old Jeep, started to tailgate me with his "Big Wheel" on the back and License Plate "BGWHEEL", lol. Then he passes me with a dirty look and gestures. Maybe he is on drugs or he just don't like BMW or our car (I remember on Topher channel he also mentioned a truck driver gave him a thumbs down).

In exchange, I returned him with a beautiful sound of B58 pass-by

No unpleasant encounters here, just a bunch of drivers that got their feelings hurt after a pull, haha. The most notable ones included those of the Tesla and V8 muscle car variety. I will say that a number of them ended up being cool in the end with a thumbs up.

Same here. Put so many AMGs to shame then they just slow down or turn off 😂

That’s the annoying thing about driving this car. So many people want to race or do pulls or whatever. My dumb ass always accepts the challenge and haven’t been beaten yet

Have had some getting closer than the proctologist. I chalked it up to curiosity of wanting to see the badging. Never had anyone seem to want to race. Albeit, my commute is usually on a single lane suburban road.

ive for the most part encountered people honking at me and then pointing at the car and giving me the thumbs up lol. one x3 almost got into an accident with another car trying to compliment me.

lots of dodge chargers and challengers wanting to race, but i dont fuck with racing strangers with other traffic around.

Haha, nice. What has been done to your car? Mine is currently just on jb+ and XHP tune, and I did a dig run against my own Model 3 Performance. They were surprisingly close with Model 3 just edging a little bit.

Thanks, haha. Nothing major, really. Dinan Intake, Dinan Exhaust, and DINANTRONICS Sport Performance Tuner. Once the ECU gets unlocked, I'll order the proper Dinan stage 1 software tune. I am waiting for the temps to go up a little and then I'll put my summer tires back on. I've only done a few Racebox pulls but the best I've gotten was a 3.71 to 60. with my wife as the passenger on all-seasons on a chilly day. No complaints here.

For me, nothing out of the ordinary. Mostly butt-hurt SUVs and trucks once they realize they aren't able to pass me to cut in front. Then the tailgating begins lol.

Ran a couple Teslas who were respectful.

I love it when the other drivers are respectful. At the end of the day, most of us are enthusiasts and if we're being completely honest, most cars on the road these days are automatics so there's barely any user error when doing pulls. It's a car against car more than driver against driver. Enjoy the experience and be respectful. A thumbs up and a smile go a long way.

Haha, I have only encountered Q50s, and with a proper tune on those, they are legit quick.

Infiniti used to be so good. I loved my G35 coupe (my 1st RWD car). But they lost it when they f'd up their steering. No matter how good and capable those engines are, the driving experience is awful.

You can tell pretty quickly when you are dealing with another car guy, and when you are dealing with a dangerous psycho.

The crazy people I just slow down and let them go on their way.

You can have a good amount of fun on the road without needing to almost kill someone.

I completely agree. I remember when I had my '13 335is that was very nicely modded (500 hp at the crank) and coming back from a NJ BMW event, I ran into an e92 M3 so we did a little hwy pull and he got his feeling hurt so he did a ricer fly-by and started darting through lanes and cut off a Semi. I gave no chase. So stupid and dangerous...

Exactly, and I really hope Nissan/Infiniti can pick up their Q50 products again, their appearance has not changed for a decade now..

Maybe that's why the new Z isn't selling - too much Z stigma, haha. I am yet to see one on the street.

I've seen a couple parked. Pretty underwhelming.

For how much they hyped that car up and how long they made everyone wait, turned it into kind of a letdown in my opinion.

Then all the YouTube race videos started being released . And it was further confirmation that the Z is indeed no baby GTR.

I had even considered putting a deposit down on one at one point.

Personally, I dislike the headlights (a little too friendly for my taste, history or not). I really like the taillights though, a nice modern twist on the Z32 300ZX ones. But the interior almost didn't change from the last gen 370Z and that's where they really dropped the ball IMO. They sure waited long enough just to spruce up the exterior a tad.
