My wife hates may car. Help me pick rimsmy
What’s up folks!? Yeah so I’ve been asking my wife her opinion but she hates my car due to how the dealership handled a bad water pump/thermostat when I bought it. Was a headache to get them to fix. Sooo anyway. I need some advice. I’m having a hard time picking between v710 gunmetal or something else. Kind of looking to do 18” Any thoughts?
I’m including a pic of my car with my current stock 17” rims and my car with photoshop VMR v710 18” gunmetals added. Color won’t match due to different lighting but I think looks good. Thoughts? Now to learn more about figments… My car is a Titanium Silver e93 I took the photo below about 20-30 minutes after sunrise. |

what the **** has your wife’s opinion has to do with your choice of rims? if she has so: listen to your wife. if she hasn’t: do whatever you like…
apart from that: your bottom picture looks like your car is lowered while your top picture isn’t… so not an apples to apples comparison |

Nah yeah NM about the wife. Regarding your comment about the 2nd pic being lowered how low does that look? Since it was a photoshop I don’t know how big those rims even are. Coilovers are in the mix but my car is on stock suspension right now.
Know of anyone who bought 18”s, but wish they’d got 19”s? |

The roads are horrible in SoCal that's one reason not to go with 19" on the E90 chassis. I blew two tires from sidewall damage and bent two other rims because of pot holes. Even with no pot holes most roads are harsh for 19s. 18s are a little better depending on the tire.

Well. I'm in Boston, and progressives are siphoning our road money into worthless items as well.
I only run 18s in the winter. Otherwise, f it, i'm on 19s! |

I have an update! Ended up finally getting my wheels! Have a look. What y’all think?
Avant Garde m520-r 19/8.5 & 19/9.5 Falken Azenis fk510 p235/35r19 & p265/30r19 We have some tire gap on my stock suspension but I’m very happy with these wheels and the look. The shop also cleaned up my rusty breaks and painted as well. |

However, this is our money, but still , she dont cares, I love her for that. OP, for your wheels , yes it fits the car, a modern aggressive look. Color fits is well too. |

Slightly too aggressive for E9X styling and body lines but still looks nice, and defintely better than before.
For reference (this is subjective of course) for me these wheels are the ones that best compliment E9X styling: VMR V703 Avant Garde M359, M610 Apex ARC-8, ARC-8RT Thye all follow the same mesh style design which is a timelss classic. |

It was very difficult to make a choice. I feel like the v703 isn’t aggressive enough and kind of looks like a cheap design to me…. Ionno why I actually was looking at V802 before getting these among other options. Ended up getting the Avant Garde wheels similar for same price at a local shop. |

Not sure how new rims will get your wife to change her opinion of the car. But if you want to get her "invested" in your car, then show her the different options for rims, get her opinion (and by all means have a discussion on what rims you like and why etc.). If you buy and install the rims that she helps choose, then she will see that you value her opinion and she may like the car more now that it sports the rims she helped select.

If you look at the design features of this particular wheel it has more edges with sharper lines vs smoother curves/edges. I'll say it again, this is subjective so not everyone may see it that way. It is that edgy design that speaks more agressive. Enjoy the car, it looks great. You should most defintely do a LCI M Sport front bumper next. That will transform you car completely, and will compliment the wheels. |
