M240 Price

I negotiated msrp in December. Is MSRP still a good deal Now? Thanks!

That's what I just negotiated. And I didn't even have to ask for it.

Sign of the times.

I just placed an order and got MSRP as well. No one in my area (Chicago suburbs) is attempting to mark up (that I know of) but also no one is offering anything off of MSRP.

Probably will be like that for a while.. parts shortages aren't getting any better just yet

Today I signed my contract and paid for my M240i. They offered MSRP and nothing less. They tried to make me pay for tinted windows, nitrogen air for tires and some other non sense junk (about $1,200). I negotiated not to pay for those items, which in this market is a win. Of course I could not get out of the $699 dealer doc fee. I was surprised I paid actual state registration/tag fee and not dealer marked up. They did not give me a hard time when I refused all the maintenance service and extended warranties. Now I need to apply for my $500 rebate from BMWCCA. I pickup the car April 11 at BMW PCD. Good luck in your negotiations.

I got stuck for $199 doc fee. I guess I got off easy compared to you.

Good call on being a BMW CCA member. It's returned $2500 over the course of my membership, so the yearly club fees are easily worth it.

Good luck on your PCD delivery. I did that with a 135i back in 2009. Had a great time. Remember, on the track it's not your car, so drive it like you stole it. Be interesting to hear if they finally have the new 240ix in the delivery fleet when you get there.

I got discount 1000$ for 230i, ordered in 02/18. No mark up. I've asked around 10 places, but only 2 places offer discount 1000$ and one place 500$ (im chicago too)

I think someone else mentioned a discount on a 230 a few threads ago. Haven't heard much about the M240 which is what I ordered

You are fortunate, most dealers really stick buyers in the doc fee especially in this market.

Next month is my 25th BMWCCA anniversary as I joined when I got my 1997 E36 M3. I have used the rebate system before and it is a nice perk.

I also had a 2009 135i and kept it for quite awhile. Good to see you landed with the holy grail of 1 series; 1M Coup and in Valencia Orange to boot.

This is my first PCD but I heard no G42 M240i yet in their fleet. Hopefully soon though. I sure plan on thrashing their cars around, respectfully though. Should not be a problem since I used to be a HPDE instructor.

So you were also a one addict for a time. Good deal. I started with a 2009 135i in Le Mans blue, and was fortunate to be able to matriculate up to the 1 M a couple years later. The E82 is the last of the old school Ultimate Driving Machines with (because of?) a brilliant hydraulic steering rack.

The 1 M just took it to a higher level with all of the E92 M3 bits stuffed into a pocket rocket. Just a raw live wire that makes you feel connected to the machine and to the road.

Everything since the F generation is simply not the same feel.

My only concern with the G42 is the steering rack. With all of the available settings I hope I can find one that is an acceptable compromise.

Sorry for taking the thread OT.

Getting back to the OT, even though with taxes and registration I'll be paying over 60 large, I actually think it's a bit of a bargain even at MSRP.

My 09 135i is probably the best driving car I have owned. I went to a M4 after that but missed the 135.

I hear you. I actually thought BMW was on to something when they released the E82. Small, cozy, engaging drive that smacked of a modern E30.

But then they went the other direction I was hoping and instead gave us the size and weight creep that continues with each new model release.

Other than the F87 the G42 is the only vehicle I've been interested in since 2011.

Like many I loathed the design language at first, until I saw it in person and now like the 1 M, there is not an angle that I don't like.

Both are aggressive, provocative designs that stand out from the majority of the other run of the mill vehicles on the street, without being too boy racer looking.

When I get my order filled and finally delivered I'll have to begin centering my lawn chair in the garage so I can take them both in.
