2024 College Football

Heading up to Gainesville at the end of the week to see our Canes take on the Gators. Really interested in seeing how this team gels with new players, especially at QB, DL and DB. Hope our season doesn’t start like FSU’s.

Some other big games in week 1 include Clemson at UGA, Notre Dame at TAMU and USC vs. LSU. Looking forward to the season and expanded playoffs.

Anyone going to a game this weekend?

Irish fan here...hopeful for a competitive season.

I can't see a way that the Bucks won't finish at the top going into an exciting 12-team playoff this year.

I agree! They have way too much talent! I just hope Day can put it all together!

Glad it's a 12 team playoff. Long over due to be honest.

Fight On! Will be interesting to see what happens to all the old Pac-10/2 teams that end up playing on frozen, snowy fields back east.

Yes, my favorite season with football starting up. Hockey and basketball are right around the corner. The fall weather in Colorado is amazing!

Hope it cools down a bit for you, but be careful what you wish for, right? I'm guessing you're not looking for negative temps and heaps of snow either.

That is true! Not looking for heaps of snow as Cincinnati pretty much shuts down when there is only flurries in the air.

I don't mind the negative temps! I prefer the cold over hot temps! But sunny with a little wind in the 60s during the day and 40s at night would be awesome here on out!

Ashton Jeanty

Running back Ashton Jeanty from Boise State had a monster game.

20 carries
267 yards
13 yards per carry
6 touchdowns

5’9” 215 pounds. Squats 600 lbs. Boise State has a Heisman Trophy campaign for him and I am starting to believe the hype. Still only one game against Georgia Southern. Let’s see what he can do against #3 Oregon in Eugene.

Same old story for the Hawkeyes. Defense pitches a shut out, offense sucks until the 2nd half. Not holding my breath as this was against a powder puff fcs team.

McNamara the former Michigan QB still plays half scared and is highly inaccurate. The only bright spot was a true freshman WR who has amazing hands.

McMillan from AZ had 300 receiving yards and 4 TDs in another standout performance.

Oregon didn’t look great against an FCS opponent in game 1. Maybe Jenty can get Boise St. in a position to push for an upset.

Just got back from Dublin after watching my team get a surprise win, but after BC's win over FSU last night, I guess it wasn't as much of a surprise in retrospect.

I will say though that Aviva stadium in Dublin was a really great place to watch a game, interesting design, very clean, seemed to be plenty of personal space and they served some great beer. Food, not so much?

Oh, I enjoyed the wins by both GT and BC. I actually have tickets for the GT game in Atlanta when Miami visits. Not sure I will be able to make it - trying to sort logistics with my wife.

Not many big games this weekend, aside from Texas / Michigan. '

Tennessee / NC State could be interesting. Iowa / Iowa State as well.

Clemson better be ready for App State and Oregon better not plan on sleepwalking again this week against Boise St.

NIU!? Wow! I can't express how disappointed I am with head coach, Marcus Freeman, getting his team ready and prepared for that game.

Pathetic!

Stop trying to be buddies with your players and be a coach and leader of these young men.

Okay, got that off my chest...

He seems to have a surprising loss each year but that is a pretty bad one.

Hoping Canes can keep focused and intense every week!

NIU is a 4-year college?

USC needs to start these games before 7:30 at night. I managed to watch most of it, but thru closed lids a few times. 11:30 is WAY past my bedtime!!!

We’ll be on the road tomorrow so I’ll have to catch our Canes game on SiriusXM this week. Anyone going to a game this weekend? Doesn’t seem like there are many (or any) big games this weekend.
