Servicing parts for 335i

Hi all,

Looking to do a mini service on my 2008 335i in next couple of weeks. Just after a idea of the best oil and filter to use, along with spark plugs and where to them from. Also looking to change serpentine belt, pulleys and tensioners, where would be the best place to get these parts from?.

Any advice greatly appreciated

Cheers

I use either BMW oil filter or a Mann one from ECP.
Any oil that is LL04 is fine.
Spark plugs I get from BMW too.

As for belts and things I would check ECP. If not go BMW

Ok so all genuine BMW parts and recommend all it is then.
I'm running FBO plus meth so what's the best plugs to run?

Oh really? I thought the 335i used LL01? I've just given a litre of LL04 away when I sold my 330d

One item I wouldn't get is a Dayco drive belt this is what GSF and Euro will largly supply we've had issues re these belts not in terms of fit but other issues such as belt squeal, put a Conti belt on or a genuine BMW belt on and no issues at all, both Euro's and GSF used to offer Conti belts but now they are supplying Dayco, re the pulley's tensioners I'd look at the prices re BMW v aftermarket as stuff from Euro's/GSF will be cheaper and overall if the brands right shouldn't cause you a problem but the belts, steer clear IMO as the job you're going to do due to the location does take time so I'd say its worth perhaps doing it with the better parts.

As for service items Mann filter are perfectly okay take 5 out to compare these with genuine BMW prices you may be surprised, but get a 30% Euro weeked offer deal then the gap in prices can widen I suspect, re plugs for my old 335i I chose to go genuine but that was a personal choice Euro's/GSF will offer/do a suitable alternative but check that they supply the right plugs as I've had several 335i's when orderd from GSF/Euro's the incorrect plugs are selected and sent.

LL04 can be used anywhere LL01 is specified
