I think a 6mt might change that but I couldn’t even find a 6mt in my area to test drive, they are that rare! The steering and chassis capabilities are sharper than the g87. The car is like a scalpel and some times feel a bit too clinical and doesn’t have enough drama. I found the g87 to be more playful and has a bit more drama. Some people may hate me for saying this but I feel that the s58 motor feels loads more special than the 3.0L TT in the c2s. S58 just pulls and pulls. When it came down to it I felt like 991.2 c2s is really a $75k-85k driving experience by todays standard, not the $98k+ prices I see them switch hands at. I feel that I was able to get 85% of the driving experience with my new g87.

I actually got a 992 Carrera T allocation last fall as well and ended up keeping my g87 as my T spec would have been $145k. The 992 Carrera T is definitely not a $145k driving experience in my opinion. It didn’t help that the T msrp went up twice in the time that I was waiting for an allocation which left a bad taste with me. I think Porsche prices are getting a bit ridiculous. Gt3 are different story, I think they are worth every penny at MSRP as they are 100x in drama than the non GT variant. I am saving up for a GT car for sure just going to bypass the non GT stuff.
I have Cayman GTS 4.0 and it drives better than 991.2 and 992, even better than M2. The 992 versions I drove (S and 4S) drove like sport sedans, just with better steering feel. I am considering canceling my 992 GTS spot (and deposit) and just order a 2025 M2. Little bummed about losing Cognac interior in 2025 M2 but will still order.

I may trade in my Cayman for a Boxster GTS if I can order new and this way I have both conv and a coupe. If not two sport coupes are just fine.

That's the state of mind at the moment

If you are going to buy another car, an M2, I'd seriously consider trading in the GTS. In my state (AR) the trade in value reduces the amount of money upon which I have to pay sales tax. That's a savings of IIRC 6.5%. If your state does something similar that's worth considering.

But even if not, you drive onto the dealer's lot with your GTS and you drive off the lot with the M2. Done.

(On the consignment lot who knows how many/what kind of test drives the GTS gets. And if you still have insurance on the car your insurance comes into play if there's an accident.)

Or you take the GTS to a Porsche dealer and go up to the sales manager. "Hi. Buy my car." has worked well for me in the past. 'course, beforehand you have to do some research to have a good idea of what your GTS is worth. But you are not going to get retail for it rather you'll get trade in/wholesale.
The flash is the badge. Rolling in with a Porsche GTS vs. a 2 series BMW is what he wants to avoid. Same with me. BMW's are more common cars. We're talking normal folk.

Precisely. Both the M2 and 911 are appealing to the enthusiast. However a bright red porsche 911 draws a lot of unwanted attention when at work

Man OP you are living the dream with that much garage space!

Here's my 2 cents

get the M2 since you already have the GTS 4.0

my history reads like this
16 Cayman S to 2020 M2C to 2022 GTS 4.0

so I know a bit about the M2 vs Porsche scenario

they offer very different kinds of fun

the M2C is more playful in its handling and offers a crazy turbo pull, it also offers awesome bulldogish looks

the porsches are precise clinical warriors that engage you in a different way

I would go G87 or even F87 M2C since you are keeping the GTS 4.0

best of both worlds

bulldogish BMW turbo coupe and NA race car in the 4.0

if you go 991.2 you've got 2 of the pretty much the same thing, only one is worse than the other (and I know you know which one is worse

Yes sir, G87 it is for now and keeping the GTS 4.0 also

https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2...n-test-review/

In this motortrend comparison, they picked the G87 over Caymans GTS 4.0 which was surprising. So I look forward to swinging emotions while I drive both back and forth.

I am sure you will enjoy their contrasting personalities!

A lot of you have said exactly what I've been feeling.

I am on 992 GTS waitlist with a deposit down. Been almost 2 years now. I got the G87 to try out while I wait but now enjoying the M2 way more then expected. I like with the M2 there is lots of mods to personalize it and make it perform even better. Where as, 992 I feel like you shouldn't mod it. I am still curious what the 992.2 will be, so waiting for that to reveal. But agreeing with Shehatezme. The GTS has gone up by $25k from when I put a deposit and don't see the $175k performance, where as a GT3 for that price range makes sense.
Anyhow, will most likely be canceling my 992 spot.
