Just been in a Ferrari 458!

This is going to sound stupid but having been in a 911 turbo a couple of weeks back the Italian dissapointed me a bit. It sounds amazing but just can't put the power down at low speeds in the same way as the Porsche.

Hopefully get to go in a Skyline next, really looking forward to that!

If you mean a GTR you may be slightly dissapointed, they don't 'feel' quick, but look out the back window and watch everything disappear and only then IMO you realise that they actually are quick!

OR maybe I was just spoiled by being in some other quick cars often, 500bhp cosworth, 630bhp R34 liner, owned 420bhp 200sx. Was in the GTR fairly often and the owner was never shy about pushing the car so got a good handle on what it was like, just lacked torque and was a real linear power, which isn't bad just doesn't 'feel' quick..

The big question is which would you want on your driveway?

Sorry, yeah, GTR I mean.

Interesting what you say about maybe being disappointed.

Thing that impressed me so much about the 911 was the 0-30. Going from standstill to quite fast in such a short space of time is an amazing feeling.

I'm hoping the GTR will be similar.

The 458 couldn't match that.

As for my drive way, if it was my only car, it would have to be the 911. It was so comfortable considering the performance!

The GT-R is pretty immense.

That's what I'm expecting - if it tops the feeling I got in the 911 as it accelerates from a standstill then I'm in for a treat!

I tell you, everyone needs a friend who is a member of a super car club!

I thought the GTR would easily outpace a 911T in a sprint. Doesn't it outpace virtually everything that costs less than £1m . Especially with launch control. Haven't both Clarkson & May stated it's acceleration is like nothing else???

Whatever the stats, yes, you're in for a treat .

I think you're right, not much is supposed to be quicker! Remarkable really when you look at the price.

Yes, I test drove one not so long ago and, before I knew what was happening, I was doing 110mph on a public road . Utterly amazing, but probably a licence loser too

Lucky boy, I'd love to drive one. I have been lucky enough to go out in two around the Nurburgring!! Nothing could touch them!

Me - lucky??? I reckon your two trips round the ring well and truly trumps my test drive on public roads; it must have been quite an experience . The salesman drove it first, before handing it over to me and I have to say that he really knew how to handle the car. It just left me wondering how he keeps his licence if he regularly drives like he did at the time.
