JB4 G4 Questions

Hi all ,
so i bought a JB4 G4 and BMS DCI from a member here on e90post, they should be arriving to my house shortly. I was wondering if i need a USB cable, what are the benefits of owning one, because i honestly have no clue what it does and i dont feel like spending my money on something like that. also, would it be worth it to upgrade to the G5? I plan on achieving FBO status someday in the future, but im not sure the isolated boost and other extras are worth it. thanks.

You may want to start by posting this to the N54 section. The USB is used for data logging and updating the firmware on the jb4. It's pretty much a must-have. G5 would probably be worth the $$ also.

oh crap wrong section my bad. wheres the cheapest place to get a usb for it?
