For me the point of dropping a car is more about performance and feel of the car. The aesthetic benefit it's just an added bonus. I hate sitting up high. Doesn't matter if the BMW is a car and not an SUV, I feel like I'm sitting too high from the ground than what I'm accustomed to, even when my seat is set to its lowest possible position. I also want the car to feel tight around corners with minimal body roll which when lowered it does. I've been too spoiled with lowered cars that handle like they're on rails and inspire confidence to push the car that when I drive a car on stock suspension, even an M car, my first impression is this could be so much better.

For sure, one of the most interesting things about my recent purchase (Macan GTS) is how noticeable even a 1cm drop is in Sport + mode, and the +4cm off road mode feels like a different car.

Regardless the comfort and convenience of a stock height car will have me sticking with that, at least for the first couple of years of ownership.

I have an elevated shitty curb on the entrance to my driveway as well. Hoping my POA will fix it for me

this looks more like a KW Has Kit...if it's gonna work on the M3/M4 then possibly the KW V3 / V4's may work on the G87?

Was considering a set of MSS gen 1 HAS to go on my G87 (currently have a set on my G42) although I'm consistently disappointed with MSS atrocious levels of after support and also concerned that the springs seem to soften considerably past their 2000mile break in period as I'm experience on my G42. I'm going to wind some height back into them via the adjuster and see if that helps. At present the fronts have settled and dropped so far that they've become crashy over moderate undulations.

From most reviews of the M performance HAS on M3/M4 they seem too stiff for the type of driving I'm looking for.

Will report back once I've played with the adjuster on the MSS.

I’m literally going to run H&R springs with spacers. Same setup I have on my F82 but with ForgeStars and it tickles my pickle

I will be testing out both first gen and 2nd gen. I have had both installed on my G80. I ran both with zero issues, except for the height on the first gen. So I saved the kit when I sold my car to install it back on G87.

Will these work in a G42 M240i and retain the factory EDC? I'd jump on this in a heartbeat if it was installed and warrantied by BMW.

Well no, the KW V2 is a complete kit, these are just springs that retain the oem shock absorbers (with EDC). With any coilover kit the EDC must be deactivated.
They are the same as the M3/4 https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1945599

EVEN MORE AGILE.
The M Performance chassis.

The agility and cornering dynamics of the BMW M2 can be further enhanced with the M Performance suspension. The recommended lowering here is ten millimeters. It would even be permissible to lower the front axle by 25 millimeters and the rear axle by 20 millimeters. Tuned to the M2 both on the racetrack and in road traffic, the M Performance suspension results in a noticeably more direct connection between the vehicle body and the road. The result: racing-inspired driving dynamics in everyday driving. With red coil springs and blue spring plates, the M Performance suspension also makes a visual statement.

Point of reference, this is $2800 port installed for the G8X.

Edit - Not confirmed and likely not installed at port. (think about the logistics of transporting a lowered car)

You will want this!! Installed at the time of ordering your car. This will be covered under your warranty.. I am waiting on the comp model. But I will be ordering this for my M2. I have the MP HAS installed on my 2020 F82 M4 comp and it’s makes a big difference.

They're covered by warranty even if installed later I'm pretty sure.

Thanks for confirming this can be done as a port install. This is huge to me because I wasn't going to pay a shop to do it, price is basically the same as getting coilovers installed. I was going to do it myself, but man what a PIA it is. Last time I did a suspension install I ran into a snag which instead of a one day job ended up taking two days to complete. Didn't want to rush it and make a mistake on a brand new car. Do you know if this port installed option will show up on the cars VIN or do they just put a sticker under the hood showing it was installed at port?

It definitely should pop up on the monroney of the car. Those are printed out at port.

Also I'm just assuming the $2800 is port installed since the base price is about $1800. The extra thousand for install and surely alignment is fair. Suspension work never goes as easily as expected!

I've been searching the G80 forum and haven't come across anyone that's had it port installed. I do however see people getting it as a dealer installed option. Maybe that's where the extra $1k is coming from. To my understanding port installed options don't cost you anything more than the price of the part/s.

It's very possible. I've yet to order one with the suspension on. It'd make sense for the car to come with the parts (in the trunk) and that 1k goes to the dealer for install.

Now that I think about it, I'm sure they don't want to try to load lowered cars on these trucks and take them off their shipping blocks. That'd be asking for damage.

Check the post above yours. Wouldn't make sense logistically.

I’ve only seen one G80 that got it port installed so far. Seems like many haven’t opted to port install yet and I think it’s only been available for port install in the last couple of months.
