My pops had a Z4MC, and it was such a great car.

(More for the E90 that I referenced).
Over 310lbs difference for the Coupes, and probably 350lbs for the sedan.

I have actually owned an E85 Z4 for almost 9 years, and I actually owned it when I drove the G80. I seriously, seriously doubt you can make the same claim.

The E85 EPS was deemed a step back when it came to market, and compared say to the contemporary E46 hydraulic rack, it was. So those were the comments from that era. Also to note, it came with first generation runflat tires, and those were indeed horrible at everything. My Z4 was on modern all high performance seasons.

Anyway when you drive it back to back with modern EPS cars, it definitely compares well. You should really try it.

We may have different standards and that is ok - but the main difference is that I actually compare cars I drive or drove recently, whereas you are mostly relying on internet lore.
I am only talking about cars that I have driven/owned.
If anything, it seems to me that the cars you have/had are the best, and all the others suck.
When I drove the Z4 3.0i E85 it was about 2010 or so (there was almost no internet lore back then), and its steering literally sucked compared to my simple 123d E82 at the time (electro-hydraulic steering, not hydraulic like the 1M). The Z4M was a completely different league.
By the way, the 1M was in 1510/1520 kg range, the M3 E92 1620/1630 (personally weighed), I have no idea about the E90, but the 1M's front end was slightly heavier in %.

Specs disagree. 1M is slightly more balanced 0.3% than an E92 and the E90 is almost a perfect 50/50 balance.

Yeah the V8 threw off the 50/50 on the E92 but pretty sure the E90 was perfect 50/50 at least according to R&T.
The E93 I had was wacky. With the top down it was rear biased something like 47.2/52.8
