HELP!! Oil Cap Filler and Gasket Issue 2008 328xi

So I need a new Gasket seal and Oil Cap filler as pictured below. However BMW is telling me that they no longer use the seals when fixing these leaks they only replace the filler cap. Since I’ll be doing this project on my own could it be possible that the dealership was wrong? Should I use the seal anyway? I’m new to the BMW world and could use the experience.

The cap itself is what actually has the seal. That other piece you are refrencing is just a gasket/drip tray sort of...I have a N54 and run no engine cover and have removed my drip gasket from my oil fill completely. I have had to also replace my actual oil cap because with age it just doesn't seal properly and oil will seep/leak under normal pressure. You can just clean that drip gasket with brake cleaner and call it a day.
