Latest update has a surprise for Android users
I use a range of iOS and Android devices. Prior to the latest iD8 update the CarPlay navigation would render on the console and in the HUD where Android Auto would not.
Happy to report that is no longer the case. This sort of change is what you would expect to make the Changelog but oh well. |

It's cool that this feature exists but for me, it's a bit redundant. Beside the giant screen to the right and the clear audible directions, the heads up display also has directions, I can't imagine needing a forth source of information.
Do you use the screen for something else outside of the map?

Thanks for letting me know. Glad I don't need to send my ECU back to Finland just yet. Hopefully they release a CarPlay update right around the BM3 Rev2 board comes out.

Oh man I understand what you say. To be clear, wake for me works with android on the touch screen but not the drivers screen. I know I want to get all the meaningful updates to iDrive 8 before I send out for MHD+
