Angry CG Motorsport Terrible service

Hi all, I am currently having a nightmare with CG motorsport after buying their stage 3 clutch and smfw for my single turbo 335i.

Heres the clutch:

https://clutch-specialists.co.uk/pro...h-kit-300-0143

Long story short, the clutch kit can hold 400ftlbs. My stock clutch held 550ftlbs and CG assured me this kit would handle AT LEAST 650ftlbs.

I will attach the email chain shortly, but overall after telling me multiple times my clutch definitely cant be slipping, they eventually gave me the pn for the pressure plate used in their kit. Its a stock pressure plate from LUK:

https://aftermarket.schaeffler.com/e...8000#documents

I did not know this prior to purchase as they did not disclose this information.

Initially the paddle clutch disc was supplied with cardboard clamped between the pads and the disc (right next to their QC sticker) an it was exchanged for another (bad signs already).

I am looking for some advice; the crucial issue is that although the clutch has only been on the car a few days and since been removed, it was purcased almost a year ago on the premise it would definietly hold.

They claim 45-50% over stock/at least 650ftlbs.

The only forum entry I can find of someone using this pressure plate, they were able to hold 420ftlbs. So I think My figures are correct.

What can I do? My opinion is that their goods did not meet description and I should be eligible for a refund. After all, you wouldn't buy a lightweight set of alloys only to find they are heavier than stock...

My thinking is that they specced the pressure plate without testing it. I have contacted LUK and have been told this pressure plate doesn't offer anything a stock pressure plate offers. Very contradictory of CG motorsports correspondance.

Im currently £800 out of pocket with a clutch that holds 70% of the torque my stock clutch held.

Advice please

Zack
