Can bad diesel cause reduced engine power light?

About 7 days ago I toughen my way 30 miles to work in a snowstorm, used much more fuel than usual. I work 24 hour shifts, and when I got off in the morning I put about 2 gallons of diesel from a gas station in the sticks, got stuck in traffic and drove 2 hours the 30 miles home. Gotta love Chicago traffic in winter. Got home, I was off for 5 days and car sat. Saturday morning when I left for work, I started car, started driving and within 10 seconds got the ‘REP’ LIGHT, AND associated symptoms. It still went 80mph on freeway, but with no pickup. Parked car, had a work fire immediately, and after returning to quarters and showering, I ate lunch then went out to start my car. In park, car revved normally, except around 2k it wouldn’t hold stable rpm. When I revved higher, big turbo kicked in fine. Fast forward to this morning, I left the firehouse, got about 2 miles away, and REP light came on again. I drove all the way home trying to burn as much fuel as I could, got home and went to put 10gal of diesel from a reliable station. Started car, drove 4 blocks home and parked, no REP light. I will pull codes later today and post them. When I got home, I started car, left in park, this time smooth idle all the way thru the band, no light came on but I wanted car to sleep before I took for a spin. I got a new battery before I did b+ cable fix and new fuse box, did not register to car yet. I will do that today. Also, I thought I smelled light odor of burnt plastic when I turned on vent, but i smell things that aren’t there sometimes, from the chemotherapy I was on for lymphoma. I hope this isn’t a huge problem, everything started to go wrong from not driving it much while I had cancer. Any input greatly appreciated. I didn’t open hood yet because my passenger side doesn’t release and I have to use this tool I made and it was in my toolbox by accident. 2010 335d 67k miles (approximately).

Also, before I got sick, my car was a PUMA case under CPO for service engine soon light that wouldn’t go out. They followed Puma steps, complete decarbonisation, sent heads out, replaced small turbo cuz they said they found oil in it, Replaced all injectors, swirl flap, various emissions components. I read and was advised on the board it was the DDE THE ENTIRE TIME, but they didn’t listen and kept replacing parts. I let them, because I figured they were replacing expensive parts at no cost to me. I eventually took car to dealership and diesel tech that this forum recommended, he said it was DDE and fought with BMW to get it replaced. They replaced it, light went out for a year and all was good, until I got cancer and didn’t drive much for a year.

If it was burnt plastic, hopefully it’s just a vacuum line and a cheap fix. I just got 4 new tires and want to do Harmonic Dampner next, but I have to get this taken care of.

Also, what is the best FIX for a passenger side hood release that won’t open. I did a search and found plenty of ways to OPEN hood, no good ones to permanently fix the issue

Is there a fuse for the turbos that I might have blown?

That's a good funny!

Look for a vacuum line that's not connected. The DDE controls the turbos via a actuators in the vacuum system.

The changeover valves are electronically actuated though?

These might help with vacuum issues:

The hood release is on the drivers side by the OBD port and the latch is in the middle of the hood, so I'm not sure what you mean by passenger side hood release but here is a diagram of the parts:

When I pop the hood, drivers side releases, but passenger side latch does not. I have to stick a screwdriver in to manually release the latch.

Thanks for all above!
