Probably. I can see the possibility of rocks or debris getting in there and maybe cause some damage? The brake cooling ducts on my Z06 are underneath with have deflectors in front, so they seem more protected.

Thank you for the feedback on the PPF, noticed that when placin th grills and reaching out the installer.

Used a cardboard cut out to get the space mold and then used that to make a cut on the grill plate. No need to remove the bumper.

Absolutely not needed.
Brake ducts already have the guards (on the fender liner), which you’re supposed to remove to clean and when on track for maximum cooling.

Plus, what kind of damage could happen that brakes are not exposed to already? I think it’s so that the look is “complete”

Haven't really looked around in there (fender liner). The ducts on my Z go right to the rear of the rotors and are wide open. With the M2 having guards on the fender liner, then yeah not needed on the front.

I did not use brake-duct screen. Not needed. Looks better to me overall without lol!

I like this idea. Question though, how do you get the grill behind the front center supports without bending it out of shape?

Once you get the cut out size right, it just slides in from the side opening and then bring it forward towards the front pillar to use the tie straps.
I bought this hook set from Harborfreight to help hold the grill in place and also to angle the tie straps. It helps getting the tie straps in the holes first instead of trying to thread them through the grill.
