Puddle Lights?

Anyone find a good option? Just tried one from Amazon and plugged in fine but certainly does not fit the insert.

I searched and found some old threads on this but nothing more recent other than a listing without part numbers or specifics.

Woah, that's quite a cost difference! Have you had it a while, and if so has it operated well with no challenges? Assuming it required no modifications to the door and was ~50mm? The ones I had gotten on Amazon was too long.

It works since I put it in, no issues whatsoever. Plug and play. I bought it a bit cheaper than this back then, figure "it's $10, if I don't like them I'll bin them, if they fail they fail", but they work and I like the look... So they're there.

There was a fat chance of me spending $200 on the genuine ones.

I agree, that price point is rough. That said, it appears shipping to the US is not available

I'd say don't do it. You are paying a huge markup because they imported it earlier from China. These are the exact same ones I have, but they show $63. For that price you should swing for the genuine ones.

Go to Aliexpress and find one that ships to the US... It'll be $12, not $60.

I'm going with these from https://www.addcarlights.com/ after seeing decent reviews on other forums. They supposedly look a lot sharper than the OEM ones. Plus, OEM is like 120+50 for the kit.

It was only $46 so worth a shot at .25 the price.

There appear to be 2 different sizes: One is about 70mm wide/long and the other one is about 45mm.

Could find the shorter one on Amazon but only with the BMW roundel image - the ones with the M Performance image in the shorter size don't seem easy to find on Amazon.

If anyone has links to them on Amazon, please share. Thanks.

Confirmed, I ordered the ones that said they'd fit and they were the 70mm, not the 50. Couldn't find any others other than the BMW logo either on Amazon.

That’s one way to look at it.
The way I look at it is you’re paying 500% markup on the same part and the same quality from a different vendor, even if paying .25 of the price of the genuine but getting .10 of the quality…

Your money though, so… hope it works out well and you don’t think too much about how much you paid for it.

And it looks like this:
The color on that looks way off? Does it actually look that way or is it just the picture?

I ordered the Factory projectors, are they over priced? Likely, are they going to fit? Yes. Should we pay the BMW tax for everything? No but I just want to go out, remove the originals, install the things and move on. And BMW warranty.

I hear ya. This is just one of those times I KNOW someone else has taken the opportunity to build something similar for cheaper. Worth a try.

Speaking of warranty, how would a puddle light affect any warranty? Are you referring to the light warranty or the car warranty itself?

Just to the light warranty. Not worried about the car warranty. I have a good relationship with my dealer. And I don’t do anything crazy to my cars. But if the light does have a problem it’s one quick phone call away. I’m sure the aftermarket lights are fine. I’m just not in the mood to be a guinypig.

I've done the aftermarkets before. I put in OEM one's last night. The aftermarkets were fine, but the OEM are definitely built better.

That’s my take, BMW wouldn’t bee to cheap about it. Yes they are over priced, but there is some level of quality.
