Yep,that’s the problem.You just get that ugly white strip for the daytime running lights.It looks just as bad on the G80 and G82 if you don’t get the laser lights.

I decided to change my AW order to non-shadowline lighting package lights. Definitely want the adapative function and enhanced DRLs and I actually don’t mind the chrome housing. It ads some visual interest and the chrome exhaust tail pipes will pop with the rear view. Other than those chrome touches, I’d like everything else to be black or carbon touches to really contrast the white paint.

I don't see any chrome on the non-shadowline headlights in the configurator. Is the configurator not accurate? I really like the look of these non-shadowline lights but I've only seen the shadowline or basic headlights in pics so far. It wouldn't be the first time the BMW configurators have fooled me so now I'm wondering.

The configurators are typically not 100% accurate.

While the main LED headlight unit is allegedly improved via the Lighting Package it cosmetically looks the same as the base unit. Envision the improved DRL in the photo below and you have the Lighting Package headlight with the chrome strip at the top . Not all that difficult.

And what of the gold accent that is clearly visible in the configurator. Is that also a lie? I can't imagine they have gold accents on the bottom with chrome accents on the top. Last time I envisioned something in my build because the configurator didn't show it I got the wrong seats. I'm good on envisioning. I want to know exactly what I am getting. Maybe its small fries to you, but getting the wrong headlights or seats in my custom build is not acceptable to me.

Possibly so. The G42 receives the gold accent on the non Shadowline headlight and it is removed on the Shadowline headlight. It is any ones guess regarding the G87 until they are on the ground at centers.

I recall that someone posted a pic that appeared to show the gold accent MIA on the lighting package headlight w/o the Shadowline package. Maybe that individual can re-post the photo or you can locate it via the search option at the top of the page?

yeah I guess thats the truth. I already looked at all the photos on this forum, at least I thought so until I read the words "chrome housing". I guess I just got the wrong idea

I would really love to see TR with these headlights in person. I think they will look good together along with those 1000M wheels in gold, hmm

I see one daily as well. A CA has one as a CEL. It is not the greatest shade of red, but we currently do not have much to work with.

I have a Melbourne Red M3 and had a Melbourne Red X5M I can tell you they looked like different colors sitting right next to each other. I looked at a Toronto Red X3M next to a Toronto Red M4 and they also looked different. On the larger vehicle it looked way more Orange.

Okay, let’s get this all out-of-the-way. I know it is not a G87. It is clearly G42 and I know it is not Toronto Red. The point of the photo is the aftermarket chrome exhaust tips. They work well which reaffirms my decision in removing the Shadowline package from my TR build.

I agree with this statement. Blue or, for me, white are solid BMW colors. I like clean white looks on a BMW.

Red was fairly popular on the E30, E36 and E46.

ZB is quite possibly one of the worst blues to be offered by BMW. Sorry, it is pretty bad.

It's really too bad they didn't offer at least Portimao blue from the 240 palette. They offered two whites AW and MW for the 240, why not two blues for those that want a deeper metallic blue.

I really wish they would have offered a metallic silver but gray is the new silver.

I mean I think color is an expression of a person's feelings or mood when choosing their car and for an exciting car like the M2 choices were just not enough colors to cover everyone's feelings.

It is unfortunate that Thundernight Metallic or PB is not available, especially instead of ZB.
