We do sell that style front lip since it is popular with our customers. And yes, we do sell them for more than we purchase them as that is how a business operates. If you prefer to purchase that particular style from overseas then you have that choice. If you prefer to deal with a business in the states than we are here.

After some research I found an identical hood @ Aliexpress , the price at aliexpress is 1/2 the price of RW, a lot less even with shipping… ( see pictures) aliexpress also carries it in carbon fiber, same design.

Im not sure if this is where RW carbon gets there product from, or if they duplicate the product in house.

needless too say i wasn’t shocked to see the same hood elsewhere after hearing that most of their products come from different suppliers.

What gets me is the fact that they always say , our fitment is guaranteed as we do everything in house.

I’m not accusing them of lying , but when I see things like this , makes me question their credibility.
Hello,

If there is any issues with fitment we always urge our customers to contact us. We have installed a handful of these hoods at our shop and we haven't had any issued yet, but they usually need some adjusting to get everything to line up correctly. If they are aligning everything to the same specs as the factory hood then it will likely have some fitment issues.

That being said, we do a lot of stuff in house, from installs, shipping/receiving and designing new parts but we do not advertise that we produce our parts in house. We work closely with a few hand picked factories overseas that produce our carbon fiber products for us (this is true with almost all carbon fiber auto part sellers in the US). In addition to that, our main factories do not make metal hoods. Most of these aluminum hoods come from the same couple of factories overseas. If you prefer to purchase it cheaper from overseas then you have that choice. You might pay more for the metal hood from us but a lot of people prefer to work with a company in the states that can provide a better service.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please shoot us a message

And all these parts I can get at BMW?

I'm guessing you guys would use proper english, too.

I've bought products from RW Carbon for my F87. Everything I bought from them was as advertised, fit without any issues & the weave/finish were perfect. To top it all off, vs buying from China, you can't argue with the simple fact that their service & returns will be far smoother than dealing with a company in China. Time & time again I read posts about people buying stuff off ebay or Ali & say the part was a hunk of junk & had to eat the cost because dealing with the return & cost to ship it back were prohibitory.

Like RWC said, you can always buy direct from Ali or from anyone else overseas you want to deal with - your money & bottle of Advil. I know I'd rather deal with the US company & let them deal with the China seller for issues. I couldn't care less they buy the same things & increase the price. They provide goods & services & deserve to be paid.

I'm very pleased with the trunk spoiler I bought from RW Carbon. It was just as advertised and the quality and fit are perfection and the price and shipping very reasonable.

I could not care less where it was actually manufactured. Nowhere did it say they were making the part themselves in the back with three guys and a mule.

If they design some of their own parts, fantastic.

If they make some of their own parts, fantastic.

If someone else designs them and makes them and they just resell under their name, fantastic.

Just as long as they don't misrepresent what they are doing.

BMW’s approach with the G42 and the MP rear spoiler sounds like a smart move and if we had a ghost account we’d definitely take our time before repping our brand. It’s always funny when people get into those debates.

It’s really simple physics at that point. Every time I see a car with a front lip and no rear spoiler, I cringe. We don’t even allow those cars on the track anymore.
That is a crazy story. I can’t imagine seeing that, but it makes total sense.

I am the opposite, I have a rear lip spoiler and no front lip… 🤣

That’s totally fine, just can’t have it the other way around with front lip and no rear spoiler.

Is that G87 specific? Or a known thing, front lips combined with stock baby spoiler = Bad? I have a MPerf lip and stock baby spoiler on my F87. I haven’t tracked a car before, only bikes, and the tech rules seem to be in place for….good reasons.

This is a known thing for all cars. There is a nice CS spoiler for the F87 that looks great and will balance out your aero.
