Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Delete

Curious if anyone has removed their CDV?

Although I find the clutch engagement to be generally precise, I do notice an engagement delay when shifting at higher (6000+) RPM's.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I was going to do it at some point, the pedal is left behind on fast shifts, until it returns and hits my foot. I have to ensure no full throttle to avoid burning the clutch during the fraction of a second delay, until the pedal has fully returned.

Was considering it but decided to adapt due to it being more complex in this car.
On the E82 I just removed the whole part, and connected the hoses together. Now you have to remove the restrictor and I’m sure I’ll mess it up… so I adapted my driving.

I'm not clear what you mean? Is it no longer just an inline fitting that can be removed at the clutch slave?

From the above video the CDV is identical to F8X cars. I've removed it in 2 F87's (mine & a mates) and in both the metal valve came out sideways with a little fiddling about but with the slave still on the car. The problem is the small hole, it's only 1.5mm in diameter so you'd need a long small gauge fine thread screw to be able to grab the hole. Once the valve is sideways the wood screw will thread between the metal side bits and come out with the screw.

This F87 forum thread will help https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...7&postcount=50

At least in the F8X it gave me a noticeable improvement to 1-2 shifts in particular, sadly I'd done 85K km before doing it.

Note that in the video above (the G80 car) they first disconnect the wrong part, you only need to disconnect the line into the slave.

Also, if you are using a clamp on the flexible line as they did in the video, the amount of force they applied with vice grips is enough to damage the line, as the steel or composite braid inside the line that the rubber is vulcanised to could easily be separated, even worse if there is a PTFE liner. Best to use a gentle clamping force, or I prefer to just quickly put a rubber cap on the end of the line to minimise fluid loss.
